Hilary Swank Shares Sad News About Her Pet Dog
On October 26, Swank posted a lengthy message on Instagram to explain the sudden passing and what Kai meant to her.
“So this happened and it was unexpected,” wrote Swank in the post. “Although any soul transition seems unexpected, doesn’t it? Even if you have time to process it, long before it happens. It still feels sudden. And surreal. And ever so heartbreaking.”
She continued, “Please help me in saying goodbye to our dear four-legged family member, Kai. He was such a good boy, and if there’s one thing he’ll always be remembered for, it was his sneaky way of becoming everyone’s favorite, when you least expected it.”
Finally, she shared a message of thanks directly to Kai, writing, “You will be missed beyond measure. Thank you for being next to me, so steadfast, through so many years and so many transitions. love you, always and forever. See you later, my boy with the polka dot feet and polka dot belly.”
Swank accompanied the touching tribute with a series of photographs showing Kai. In the images, the beloved family pet can be seen posing in a variety of settings and relaxing with Swank and others.
Hilary Swank Gives Glimpse of Personal Life
This isn’t the first time in recent months that the former “Karate Kid” actor has opened up about her family life. Despite usually being private when it comes to her personal life, she took to Instagram to reveal a playful photograph with one of her twin daughters.
In the image, Swank can be seen travelling through an airport with her toddlers while pushing a suitcase. One of the youngsters can be seen sitting on top of the suitcase while holding onto the handles with what looks like sheer determination.
Speaking to Women’s Health in April, Swank explained her approach to parenthood, having become a mother in her late 40s.
“I’m a very different parent than I would’ve been, even in my early 40s,” she explains. “I’m much more patient. I’m much more understanding. I am much more, I think, interested in a different way than I would’ve been.”
