Former “The Voice” coach and country superstar Reba McEntire and her fiancé, actor Rex Linn, have been going strong since 2020, with the “CSI: Miami” star popping the question in Tennessee in December 2024. Now, nearly two years since their engagement, fans are hoping to see these two stars say their “I do’s” soon.
In a recent interview with E! News, McEntire gave an update on her wedding details, but sadly for fans, they may have to wait a while longer to see the country singer in a white dress.
Reba McEntire Shares Update on Rex Linn Wedding Plans
GettyWhile speaking to E! News on Monday, August 10, at the NBC Backlot Pass event, Reba McEntire offered some insight into her wedding plans with her fiancé, Rex Linn, now that it’s nearly two years since the actor asked for her hand in marriage.
“We’re just waiting until we have an open spot to have the wedding,” McEntire told the outlet, referring to their hectic work schedules. “Get it planned. Print those invitations.”
McEntire stood next to her “Happy’s Place” co-star Belissa Escobedo, who remarked that both the singer and her fiancé are “two of the busiest people” and are “always on a new job, making new music.”
Besides starring in “Happy’s Place” alongside Linn, the singer has been busy with her music career, recently releasing a series of anniversary EPs that include one new song along with selected tracks from her 50 years in music. The EP series kicked off in April and will continue through December.
In February, McEntire shared similar reasons as to why she and Linn do not have a wedding date in place. “We’re still waiting on a third season pickup from ‘Happy’s Place,'” she told E! News, adding, “And Rex got picked up on ‘Stick’ with Owen Wilson, so that pushed the wedding back.”
She also told People in October 2025 about not rushing down the altar, “I asked him, ‘Well, when do you want to do this?’ He said, ‘Let’s have fun with the engagement time.’ So we haven’t set a date or anything. We’re just enjoying each other.”
Linn shared with E! News a month later: “What we’re doing right now, honestly, is enjoying our engagement time,” he said. “We haven’t set a date, we’re just going to enjoy our engagement and enjoy going to ‘Happy’s Place’ every day.”
McEntire Opens up About Loving Relationship With Linn
GettyWhile speaking to E! News in August, McEntire was asked about her relationship with Linn, including what it’s like working together on “Happy’s Place.”
“It’s easy; we have a blast together,” Reba said. “We work together, and we rehearse together. We carpool together. So, we’re always together.”
The “I’m a Survivor” hitmaker added that what makes their relationship so strong is that while they love each other, they also “like each other.”
“We like each other. We love each other, but we like each other. We have fun,” she said, adding that they both enjoy the same things in life. “We love the country way of life, the western way of life. We love movies. We love television.”
She continued, “The only thing we’re opposite of, he loves thriller horror movies. I’m more like, ‘Happy. Everything’s so sweet.’”
