Determined Michael J. Fox Standing Strong at the US Open [VIDEO]

Michael J. Fox and his wife, Tracy Pollan, showed up at the U.S. Open on Sunday, September 7. He was one of many celebrities who decided to check out the match on day 15, with Bruce Springsteen, Ayesha and Steph Curry, and Mindy Kaling and B.J. Novak also in attendance.

As usual, the “Back to the Future” star’s appearance garnered a lot of attention, with photographers and journalists hoping to get some photos and questions with the actor. Despite arriving in his wheelchair, his resolve was firm, as he stood up on his own with his wife for photos.

Michael J. Fox Shows Unstoppable Spirit on the Blue Carpet

Mickey Blank took a video of Michael posing for photos at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center. He looked casual in gray tennis shoes, a white shirt, blue pants, and a matching blazer. Tracy looked relaxed in strappy beige heels, a beige purse, and a fluttery, floral maxi dress tied at the bust.

“Michael J. Fox arrived on the @usopen blue carpet in a wheelchair, but stood up to greet photographers and even took a quick interview before returning to his seat,” the digital creator captioned the video. “A reminder of his unstoppable spirit and grace 🙌🎾”

Celebrating Resilience: Michael J. Fox Back in Action

Michael has lived with Parkinson’s disease for more than 30 years now. However, he has refused to let his diagnosis rule his life. This past year, he has demonstrated his strength and resilience through various projects, including a return to acting.

In May, Deadline reported that the iconic actor would have a guest role in “Shrinking.” The series reunited Michael with Bill Lawrence, co-creator of “Spin City.” In the series, starring Jason Segel, Harrison Ford, and Jessica Williams, Ford’s character is portrayed as having Parkinson’s.

While his role has been kept tightly under wraps, it’s thought to relate to Ford’s character, Dr. Paul Rhoades. During “An Evening with ‘Shrinking’ at PaleyLive” in 2024, Lawrence admitted to People that Michael was the inspiration for the character.

“It’s cool to get to write about things you care about now, and Michael J. Fox is my first mentor, so we wanted to represent it in hopefully an inspiring and not sad or tragic way,” Lawrence said.

“I found the first mentor in my life and career, Michael J. Fox, to be so inspiring with the way he took it in stride and continues to work harder than anybody I know,” he added. “And we want to kind of carry that spirit if we can into the show.”
