Fox was a big 80s and 90s TV and film star, but his life looks quite different today. After receiving a Parkinson’s diagnosis in the early 90s, Fox continue to stun on screen. Unfortunately, his symptoms soon proved to be too much for his difficult and demanding job, and the actor exited his successful 90s sitcom, “Spin City.”

Luckily, Fox’s diagnosis hasn’t completely stopped him from pursing his dreams, and has even ignited some new passions for him. In 2013, Fox starred in his own sitcom, “The Michael J. Fox Show” on NBC, on which he was also an executive producer. He also had a reoccurring role on “The Good Wife” from 2010-2016, a role he reprised on 2020 for the show’s spin-off, “The Good Fight.” On the film side, Fox recently voiced Michael J. The Fox in “Zootopia 2,” which opens in theaters on November 26, 2025.

In addition to continuing his acting career, Fox started an organization in this name. “The Michael J. Fox Foundation” is dedicated to finding a cure for Parkinson’s disease.

Fox also remains dedicated to his family. Recently, he, his wife, and his kids made a rare red-carpet appearance at a gala benefiting Parkinson’s research.

Michael J. Fox’s Illustrious Career

While most people know Fox for playing Marty McFly in the “Back to the Future” trilogy and for his many seasons as Alex P. Keaton on “Family Ties,” Fox’s career has run the gamut. From sitcoms to films to animation to legal dramas, Fox has proven there’s no role he can’t play.

Although he may not star in film and TV as consistently has he used to, Fox’s dedicated to his craft and ability to maintain his career is inspiring. He has yet to win an Academy Award, but Fox has proved that anything is possible and he can’t be counted out yet.
