Michael Keaton Honors Catherine O’Hara in Emotional Post

Hollywood actor Michael Keaton has paid tribute to his friend and former co-star Catherine O’Hara following her death today. The “Home Alone” actor passed away at the age of 71 on January 30, and now her fellow “Beetlejuice” has mourned her in an emotional social media post.

Michael Keaton Mourns His Close Friend in Emotional Tribute

Posting on his personal Instagram account, Keaton shared an image of the pair during the promotional of the 2024 film “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice,” which saw them reunite as Betelgeuse and Delia Deetz.

“We go back before the first ‘Beetlejuice,'” Keaton wrote on Instagram. “She’s been my pretend wife, my pretend nemesis and my real life, true friend. This one hurts. Man am I gonna miss her.”

Keaton added, “Thinking about Beau as well,” in reference to O’Hara’s husband Bo Welch.

The pair worked together on the 1988 film “Beetlejuice” and its sequel “Beetlejuice Beetlejuice” in 2024. However, they also shared other on-screen roles together.

They both had leading roles in the 1994 film “The Paper,” which was directed by Ron Howard. O’Hara and Keaton also collaborated on the 2005 film “Game 6,” the Michael Hoffman comedy-drama where they played husband and wife.

Macaulay Culkin Also Pays Tribute to His On-Screen Mom

O’Hara is perhaps best known for her role in the “Home Alone” franchise, where she portrayed Kevin’s mom in the first two films. Starring opposite Macaulay Culkin, the two struck up a close relationship.

With Culkin being just nine-years-old at the time when they began working together, it meant a bond that lasted throughout their lives. According to US Magazine, the pair often kept in touch and met up, with Culkin referring to O’Hara as his “mom” every time they encountered each other.

The former child actor posted a heartbreaking message to his Instagram account, expressing his love for O’Hara.

Alongside an image of the pair when the film released and one of them together more recently, he wrote, “Mama. I thought we had time.”

He continued, “I wanted more. I wanted to sit in a chair next to you. I heard you. But I had so much more to say.  I love you.  I’ll see you later.”
