Former A-list actor Mickey Rourke has launched a GoFundMe in order to avoid eviction after falling on hard times.
Mickey Rourke Launches GoFundMe
GettyThe “Sin City” actor, 73, is hoping to raise $100,000 through the crowdfunding site after falling behind on his rent by nearly $60,000.
Liya-Joelle Jones, a member of Rourke’s management team, according to The Hollywood Reporter, kick-started the fundraiser on Sunday, January 4.
“Help Mickey Rourke Stay in His Home,” the listing is titled.
“Mickey Rourke entered American cinema like a force of nature—raw, fearless, and utterly original. In the late 1970s and 1980s, he wasn’t just a movie star; he was a symbol of something rare: danger paired with vulnerability, toughness paired with heart,” the fundraiser explains. “From ‘Diner’ to ‘Rumble Fish’ to ‘9½ Weeks’, Mickey gave audiences performances that felt lived-in, not performed, and left a permanent mark on American film culture. Mickey’s life never followed a safe or protected path. At the height of his success, he stepped away from Hollywood in search of truth and authenticity, choosing risk over comfort.”
In addition to being an Oscar-nominated actor, Rourke spent decades pursuing a career as a professional boxer. According to Jones, the sport left Rourke with “lasting physical and emotional scars.”
“What followed were years of struggle not defined by spectacle, but by survival: health challenges, financial strain, and the quiet toll of being left behind,” she added in the GoFundMe description. “Today, Mickey is facing a very real and urgent situation: the threat of eviction from his home. This fundraiser is being created with Mickey’s full permission to help cover immediate housing-related expenses and prevent that from happening.”
Her listing continued, “Mickey Rourke is an icon—but his trajectory, as painful as it is, is also a deeply human one. It is the story of someone who gave everything to his work, took real risks, and paid real costs. Fame does not protect against hardship, and talent does not guarantee stability. What remains is a person who deserves dignity, housing, and the chance to regain his footing.”
As of publication, the fundraiser has surpassed the $30,000 mark.
Mickey Rourke Faces Eviction
Rourke was served a notice to vacate the home he has been living in on December 18, 2025, according to People.
He reportedly owes his landlord nearly $60,000 in past-due rent.
Rourke allegedly “failed to comply with the requirements of” the notice, according to court documents viewed by the outlet. The actor has been living at the property since March 2025.

He should’ve been paying other people’s rent, with all the money he’s made. That’s what happens when you make bad decisions in life & squander money away. No pity here.
Oh, Boo Hoo. A lot of other people are suffering financially and we’re supposed to contribute to a go fund me account because he made bad choices? I don’t think so. I agree. Don’t feel sorry at all.
Yeah what just because he decided not to pay his rent so other people are supposed to support a grown man wrongfully not paying his rent and being freely with his money all the homeless people out there and he wants a hand out hope y’all ain’t no dumb fool people scamming all day long stop 🛑 with the bullshit.
Amazing the amount of disdain and hate towards an human in need. The same ones with vitrol to spee regarding this man needing financial support,I hope none of you end up in the same situation. Unless you’re wealthy everyone is a terrible situation and disaster away from losing everything they have. A paycheck away from destitute to be exact. The same frustration shown to this man should be directed at those in charge in the system supposedly decided by the people. Who very much do the exact opposite of the claims that they lie to you about changing but only benefits the very select few. Society is doomed beyond repair until the emotional and intellectual insight of others change for the greater good. Wonder why this outrage is never given to those in charge of the world when we outnumber them. Interesting.
Maybe Instead of starting a “GoFundMe” he downsides his lifestyle a notch or 2. I can almost guarantee you that he still has a private chauffeur that picks him up at his multimillion dollar home for Starbucks everyday. So maybe Mick sells the house and downsizes to a normal house and normal lifestyle instead of still trying to live like he did in the eighties. Im pretty sure if he did this that he wouldn’t need a crowd funding to stay in the house hes renting or owns. If its rent maybe downsize and rent a normal spot in a smaller less expensive town. Do what all the guys still on the “A” list are doing and move to Utah or Idaho and cut your living expenses by 85% and live the rest of your days a happy old man with good memories of a past gone by but still living with dignity doesn’t mean he has to be living large.
I owe about 400 in back rent, I’m not on go fund me with my hand out. That’s just ridiculous. Sometimes we have to be hungry, to appreciate food. I wish him well, but this is not pulling at my emotional cords.
