Major Updates in Nancy Guthrie’s Disappearance in LIVE Report

While authorities have not yet identified a suspect or person of interest, investigators returned to Nancy Guthrie’s Tucson home on Tuesday to follow up on new leads in the search for the missing 84-year-old. According to local reports, Multiple agencies were back on scene, including the Pima County Sheriff’s Department, the FBI, and Border Patrol agents. K-9 units were also deployed as investigators resumed their work at the residence in the Catalina Foothills area.

Crime scene tape was reinstalled around the property as officers moved in and out of the home. Several law enforcement vehicles remained parked nearby as the search activity intensified. Here is all we know:

Investigators conducted a grid search of the wooded area surrounding the home, with search teams methodically combing the terrain.

K-9 units were seen working around the exterior of the house and in nearby areas, though authorities have not disclosed what specific evidence they were seeking.

Officials were also observed examining multiple sides of the residence. A truck was brought to the scene as deputies and agents continued their efforts both inside and outside the property.

Reports from the scene quickly spread across social media, sharing unsettling updates as federal and local agents canvassed Nancy’s home and the nearby residence of her daughter, Annie.

The renewed activity comes as the investigation entered its fourth day, with authorities indicating they were acting on newly developed information. Here are the top highlights from today’s search at Nancy’s house:

  • Federal agents returned Wednesday evening to Nancy Guthrie’s Arizona home, deploying K-9 units as part of a renewed search effort.
  • Investigators searched nearby wooded areas, including a thicket adjacent to the home, as well as the missing woman’s garbage, according to reports from the scene.
  • Agents joined deputies from the Pima County Sheriff’s Department, who reinstalled caution tape around the 84-year-old’s property to restrict access.
  • NewsNation reporter Brian Entin documented the activity in an X post as authorities set up at the home.
  • “It’s been quiet here for the last couple of days, but now clearly they are about to do something at the house,” Entin said while filming agents on the scene. They also searched Nancy’s garage, as shown in the video shared by Entin.
  • Police then began a grid search of the wooded area near the home and also examined the garage, Entin reported.

As per a TMZ report, law enforcement activity has also extended to the Arizona home of Annie, the sister of “Today” anchor Savannah Guthrie.

TMZ published photos from Wednesday afternoon showing a man wearing an ICAC shirt arriving at Annie’s home. He was seen carrying a bag over his shoulder, a detail that stood out as investigators continued their work at the property.


Agencies Follow Up on New Investigative Leads

The Pima County Sheriff’s Department confirmed that deputies, along with federal partners, returned to the home to follow up on new investigative leads. People were seen moving inside the residence as the search continued.

Officials urged anyone with information to come forward. Tips can be reported to the Sheriff’s Department at 520-351-4900 or by calling 9-1-1. Information can also be shared with the FBI by calling 1-800-CALL-FBI.

As of Wednesday evening, authorities said no suspect or person of interest had been identified.


Community Gathers for Candlelight Prayer Service

As law enforcement activity continued, members of the Tucson community came together to support the Guthrie family.

A candlelight prayer service was held Tuesday evening at St. Philip’s in the Hills Episcopal Church on North Campbell Avenue. Doors opened shortly after 5 p.m., with the service beginning at 6 p.m. The church can accommodate roughly 400 people.

The gathering reflected both the growing concern and the shared hope within the community as the search for Nancy continued. As of the time of publication, sadly, she had still not been located.

  1. I’m from Canada but have been reading everything about the case and I, too, am worried about an 84 year old lady without her medicine. Did they maybe take a few pills with them out of the bottle? The pharmacist could tell you how many would have been there on Sunday morning.
