FBI Questions Staff at Restaurant Where Nancy Guthrie Filmed ‘Today’ Segment Before Disappearance: REPORT

The search for Nancy Guthrie has now entered its sixth week as investigators continue to follow up on every possible lead. As authorities leave no stone unturned in the effort to find answers, new details are emerging in the case involving Savannah Guthrie’s missing mother.

FBI Questions Restaurant Workers After ‘Today’ Segment Filming

As per a report in the New York Post, Federal agents have reportedly spoken with employees at a Mexican restaurant where Nancy Guthrie filmed a segment for the “Today” show with her daughter, Savannah Guthrie, in the months before she disappeared.

NewsNation reporter Brian Entin reported that investigators visited the Tucson restaurant and asked staff whether they noticed anything unusual while the television segment was being filmed.

Authorities specifically asked whether anyone appeared suspicious or lingered near the location during the production.

Entin said workers were also asked whether anyone tried to take photos or behaved in a concerning manner around the crew.

“anyone who wanted to take pictures or who got angry or who was lingering around in a creepy way.”

Officials have not said whether the conversations with restaurant employees produced any new information that could help advance the investigation.

Nancy had joined Savannah for the segment during a trip to Tucson, where the “Today” host revisited places tied to her childhood.

The trip had been planned as a nostalgic visit to places Savannah remembered from her childhood. During the segment, she revisited several familiar spots in Tucson, including a well-known Mexican restaurant in the city’s historic downtown district.

While Entin did not name the restaurant in his report, the longtime Tucson establishment, El Charro Cafe, previously shared a video showing the “Today” segment being filmed there.

After the footage resurfaced online following Nancy’s disappearance, chef Carlotta Flores reflected on the Guthrie family’s connection to the restaurant, noting they had been longtime visitors.

“I have absolutely nothing to say but wonderful things about their family. If you think about your grandmother, that’s the way [Nancy] is,” Flores gushed, as per a report in the New York Post.

“She’s a humble, proud mom who only wants good things for her family. She is proud of her children. She just happens to have a daughter who is in the limelight.”

The investigation into Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance has now entered its sixth week, with authorities still searching for answers and no confirmed suspects identified.

The 84-year-old grandmother was first reported missing after she failed to appear at church, prompting concern from family and friends.

Investigators later reviewed security footage from her doorbell camera, which showed a masked man lingering outside her home on the night authorities believe she was abducted.

Since then, law enforcement officials have continued to review evidence and revisit locations connected to Guthrie’s recent activities in hopes of uncovering new leads.

CATALINA, ARIZONA – FEBRUARY 3: Pima County Sheriff, Chris Nanos, speaks to the media on February 3, 2026, in Tucson, Arizona.

Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos, who is leading the investigation, recently said authorities believe they may understand why Guthrie was targeted.

However, he cautioned that investigators cannot yet say with certainty what motivated the suspect.

“We believe we know why he did this, and we believe that it was targeted, but we, we can’t, we’re not 100% sure of that,” Nanos told NBC News.

He also urged residents to remain cautious as the investigation continues.

“So it’d be silly to tell people, ‘Yeah, don’t worry about it. You’re, you’re not his target.’ Don’t think for a minute that because it happened to the Guthrie family, you’re safe. No, keep your wits about you.”

As of the writing of this story, no suspect has been publicly identified.
