Director Kathryn Bigelow’s cyberpunk thriller, written and produced by her ex-husband, James Cameron, has aged remarkably well, considering the fact that it takes place in a near-future that actually took place almost 12 years ago. The film spares no expense in creating a truly unsettling vision of a dystopian Los Angeles, with some rather amazing action scenes — the stomach-churning first-person opening segment is a variation on Bigelow’s expertly choreographed foot chase in Point Break, though about ten times more insane. Ralph Fiennes is intense, Michael Wincott is creepy and Juliette Lewis is sleazy-sexy — you could certainly have worse Days than these. And yeah, we bet you had forgotten that the Oscar-winning director of The Hurt Locker also directed this one… and Point Break.
