Writer and actor Stephen Hibbert, who was best known for portraying The Gimp in the 1994 hit movie “Pulp Fiction,” has tragically passed away, TMZ reports.
A family member told the outlet that Hibbert died of a heart attack in Denver, Colorado, on Monday, March 2, at the age of 68.
“Our father, Stephen Hibbert, passed away unexpectedly this week. His life was full of love and dedication to the arts and his family. He will be dearly missed by many,” his children, Ronnie, Rosalind, and Greg, said in a statement to TMZ.
Stephen Hibbert’s Legacy
Hibbert began his career as a writer for television in the 1980s, working on “Late Night With David Letterman.” From there, he worked on numerous animated children’s television shows in the 1990s, as well as writing for “Mad TV,” and “Boy Meets World.” He was also responsible for writing the 1994 film “It’s Pat: The Movie,” which starred Julia Sweeney.
As for his acting career, he played a guard in “Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me,” as well as appearing in “The Cat in the Hat.”
However, his most memorable role is The Gimp in “Pulp Fiction.”
Along with his acting and writing career, Hibbert taught a film theory course at Denver School of the Arts as well as teaching improv at Chaos Bloom Theater in Denver

GettyPeter Green, who was known for his role as Zed in “Pulp Fiction” as well as the hit movie “The Mask,” passed away late last year. The actor was found dead in his New York City apartment on Friday, December 12, at the age of 60, with TMZ reporting at the time that Greene’s body was found with “some injuries, but it’s undetermined what caused the injuries.” He was found after police arrived for a welfare check.
His official cause of death was listed as “a gunshot wound of the left axilla with injury of the brachial artery,” with the manner of death being classified as an accident.
“In other words, Peter accidentally shot himself in the left armpit, and the bullet damaged the artery that supplies blood to the arm, elbow, forearm, and hand,” the outlet clarified.
Greene was honored in a private celebration of life, with his memorial including 40 attendees who were close to the actor.
