Nancy Guthrie Case: Sheriff’s Department Discusses 911 Call

With it now being almost five weeks since her mysterious disappearance, the search for 84-year-old Nancy Guthrie continues. The mother of broadcaster Savannah Guthrie was taken from her home in Tucson, Arizona and police are treating the case as a kidnapping.

As there are no breakthroughs in the case yet, law enforcement – which includes both the FBI and the Pima County Sheriff’s Department – are looking into every potential piece of evidence that might help them find Nancy or locate her kidnapper. Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos has now revealed that investigators did look into a 911 call that was made on the same night that Nancy was abducted.

As the case into the kidnapping of Nancy Guthrie enters its fifth week, there are now more questions than answers. The lack of any breakthrough has led to intense speculation from the public, including reports about a possible 911 call that was made on the night that Nancy was seemingly taken.

According to reports, this alleged emergency call featured a woman who was in a vehicle and could be heard screaming into the phone. However, Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos has now confirmed that this 911 call was genuine and has been investigated by his officers but that it was deemed to not be relevant to the Nancy case

“We heard that. We looked into it that night,” Nanos told Tucson’s KVOA (via Newsweek). “We found those individuals and interviewed them. It was a domestic violence situation that had nothing to do with this case at all.”
