CNN host Rahel Solomon—who first joined the network in 2022—announced during the Monday, March 23, broadcast that she is stepping down from her role.
Rahel Solomon Announces Her Exit From CNN
Solomon, who hosts CNN’s “Early Start,” announced she will be leaving the network.
“Now, to some personal news, I have decided that this will be my last week at CNN,” Solomon told viewers during “Early Start” on Monday, March 23. “More to come on what’s next for me, but I’m really excited about this next chapter.”
She continued, “For now, a huge thank you to the team here on ‘Early Start.’ We have covered some major breaking news during our hours, and I am so proud to have worked alongside you. To the larger team here at CNN, I’m going to be cheering you on. I look forward to watching.”
“It has been such an honor, truly, to serve as a business correspondent for CNN,” Solomon continued. “I have covered everything from inflation to the job market and everything in between. It has been an honor. It has been a privilege.”
Solomon shared that her last day with CNN will be Friday, March 27.
While she did not go into detail about her next career move, Solomon announced in 2024 that she was going back to school to study financial planning.
“I love covering business and the economy; now I’ll be able to cover more closely personal finance,” she shared via Instagram at the time.
Additionally, in 2025, Solomon welcomed her first child with husband Marcel S. Pratt.

Before joining CNN in 2022, Solomon was a reporter at CNBC and CBS Philadelphia. She earned her bachelor’s degree from St. John’s University, followed by a master’s from Northwestern University’s Medill School of Journalism. She also previously worked as a business correspondent for CNN International before landing at “Early Start.”
