The NFL has announced the full pregame music lineup for Super Bowl LX, including the artist set to perform the national anthem before kickoff between the New England Patriots and the Seattle Seahawks. The game takes place Sunday, February 8, 2026, at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California, with live coverage on NBC and streaming on Peacock.
Here’s a breakdown of who is singing the national anthem at the 2026 Super Bowl and which artists will take part in the pregame performances.
Charlie Puth Is Singing the National Anthem at the 2026 Super Bowl
Charlie Puth will perform “The Star-Spangled Banner” ahead of the 6:30 p.m. ET kickoff. The NFL confirmed Puth as the national anthem singer as part of its official Super Bowl LX pregame entertainment announcement.
Puth is a Grammy-nominated singer, songwriter, and producer known for hits including “See You Again,” “Attention,” and “We Don’t Talk Anymore.”
He said he submitted a demo to the league during the selection process and spoke openly about the challenge of the anthem.
“It’s the hardest song ever written,” Puth told Rolling Stone, referencing the song’s three-octave range. “I just want to show people that I can do it. I feel like people don’t really think of me as a standalone vocalist at times.”
He added, “It’ll be pressure the week leading up to it and the hour leading up to it. But once I’m there, it’s going to feel so comfortable and it’s going to sound so good.”
Charlie Puth Addresses Whitney Houston Comparison
Ahead of the game, Puth shared a message on social media acknowledging the legacy of Whitney Houston, whose national anthem performance at Super Bowl XXV in 1991 remains one of the most celebrated in NFL history.
“I am singing the national anthem on Sunday, fully knowing that this version exists,” Puth wrote in an Instagram video posted Saturday, February 7, showing him walking through Levi’s Stadium while listening to Houston’s performance.
Fans and fellow musicians responded with encouragement. One user commented, “Yeah, but you’re gonna do Charlie’s version. And that’s what the world wants to hear this year!” Another wrote, “Whitney, unbeatable… but you’re also gonna be incredible!”
Producer David Foster commented that Puth was “gonna kill it,” while choreographer Kenny Ortega added, “It’s not a competition, Charlie. Just make the words ring out.”
More Stars Are Performing at the Super Bowl
Brandi Carlile will perform “America the Beautiful” as part of the Super Bowl LX pregame ceremony. Carlile, an 11-time Grammy winner, previously said she approaches the song with reflection and intention.
She explained in a recent interview that she wants the performance to come across as meaningful and centered on hope.
Coco Jones will perform “Lift Every Voice and Sing.” Jones is also known for her role as Hilary Banks on Peacock’s “Bel-Air.”
The song has been included in Super Bowl pregame ceremonies since 2020.
The NFL also announced that Green Day will perform during the Super Bowl LX Opening Ceremony earlier in the evening. The band includes Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt, and Tré Cool.
“We are super hyped to open Super Bowl 60 right in our backyard,” Armstrong said in a statement released through The Associated Press.
Super Bowl LX will air live on NBC, with streaming available on Peacock. A Spanish-language broadcast will air on Telemundo.
Pregame coverage begins earlier in the day, leading into kickoff at 6:30 p.m. ET from Levi’s Stadium.
