The internet is in mourning as gaming YouTuber La’tayvia Deshay Ransom, known as Tayta Games, has passed away. Games amassed over a million followers across her social media platforms- YouTube, Instagram, and TikTok. Fans adored Games for her comedic reactions to video games.
According to PEOPLE, Games passed away on September 17. Her father, Elton Dirt Ransom, shared the sad news in a Facebook post. He said, “My Oldest daughter passed this morning.”
He then said, “La’tayvia Deshay Ransom would have made 22yrs old in 9 days. I’ve been doing 2 a days at the hospital for the past week, praying for the best. Talking to her made me so optimistic. Damn, I just can’t believe I lost my child.”
Games was vulnerable about her battle with cancer on her social media platforms. She first announced that she had been diagnosed in 2024 in a series of posts on YouTube.
Fans Are Paying Tribute to Games on Social Media
Games provided levity to millions of people online. As a result, many are taking to social media to remember her legacy. One person wrote on X, “September is something else because what do you mean one of my favorite YouTubers passed away from stage 4 colon cancer.”
The person continued, “Generally hoping this is some sick joke someone pulled or something bc ik Tayta wouldn’t leave us like this.. Rest in peace, our spiritual queen Tayta.”
Someone else stated, “I’m heartbroken, bro. She was my favorite scary gaming channel. RIP Tayta Games, man.”
Another fan wrote, “Rip TayTagames. You were literally one of the funniest people I have watched on YouTube. Thank you for inspiring me with your funny videos and charming personality. Sending love, and prayers to her family.”
Finally, one of her other fans posted, “Rest in peace to the baddest gamer I ever knew, Tayta Gayta. I’ll forever be thankful for all the happiness and laughter u brought me with ur gameplays.”
She Leaves Behind a Massive Legacy
Games passed away days before her 22nd birthday. Still, despite living such a short life, she made a mark on people from all over the world. She started her YouTube channel in February 2022. In total, she posted 359 videos on the platform. Additionally, over 433,000 people follow the channel, and her videos have achieved more than 22,905,502 views.
As mentioned, she was also very popular on TikTok. She posted her final video to the platform on August 21. Games will be missed, but her legacy will live on.
