Garcelle Beauvais Clears the Air on Sutton Stracke Friendship and RHOBH Exit

Garcelle Beauvais is making it clear she’s at peace with leaving “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.” The 58-year-old actress and TV personality recently spoke candidly about her exit from the hit Bravo show, explaining why she walked away, what she really thinks of her former co-stars, and how she’s focusing on new projects — not past drama.

Garcelle Beauvais Says RHOBH Hurt Her Spirit

During her October 22 interview on “The Breakfast Club,” shared on the show’s official Instagram page, Garcelle was asked if she missed filming “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.” Her answer was short and direct: “No.”

“It was great in terms of like, I got a new audience and there were really wonderful things that happened because of the show,” she explained. “But I think my time was up.”

When pressed about whether money or contract disputes played a role in her departure, Garcelle quickly shut down the speculation. “No,” she said. “It was nothing like that. I just couldn’t do it anymore. It was really hurting my spirit. I couldn’t physically, spiritually, mentally, do it anymore.”

The actress, who joined RHOBH in season 10, said her decision came from choosing herself over chaos. “I’ve been really great about choosing me when I’m faced with something,” she continued. “I’ve done it with relationships. I’ve done it in other places where I’ve felt like, ‘If I don’t choose me, it will probably not work out for me.’ So I have faith, and I just knew it was time.”

As for how Sutton Stracke, her longtime friend on the show, would handle her absence, Garcelle replied bluntly, “Girl, I don’t know. That’s on her.”

The RHOBH Star Calls Out Her Former Co-Stars

Following her exit, Garcelle unfollowed her castmates — a move that sparked plenty of headlines. She explained that it wasn’t about drama, but about boundaries. “I just needed space,” she said. “I follow people who I want to see what they’re doing and I want to support. If you’re out of my life, I don’t see why I need to follow you.”

Garcelle also reacted to a moment from “Watch What Happens Live” when Erika Jayne and Bozoma “Boz” Saint John were asked about her departure. After an awkward pause, Erika joked that it must have been “a divine act,” which Garcelle didn’t appreciate. “They were mean girls,” she said.

Still, Garcelle admitted she doesn’t understand why she and Boz were ever portrayed as rivals. “I met with Boz prior to her coming onto the show for lunch. We got along great,” she said, noting that the tension may have been more about editing than real-life friction.

When the hosts pressed her on the lack of support she received from her former castmates, Garcelle shifted gears to focus on her current work. “I really don’t want to go back there, honestly,” she said. “I’m here for my movie. I’m selling shows. I just would like to stay on a positive note.”

Her new Lifetime film, “Taken at a Truck Stop: A Black Girl Missing Movie,” premieres Saturday, October 25, at 8/7c.

  1. Garcelle you were the very best thing that ever happened to the whole Housewife franchise. You never were a two faced lady or talked behind someone’s back. You confronted them and told them the truth to their faces. You were never like any of those mean girls , just to fit in with the so incrowd. You are one of a kind and I don’t think we’ll ever see another classy lady like you ever on any of the housewifes TV shows. We wish you and your 3 sons and grand baby all of the best of everything. Love luck happiness wealth and great health.
YOU GARCELLE ARE ONE OF A KIND AND WE WILL ALWAY BE WAITING TO HEAR MORE OF YOU. GOD BLESS YOU AND YOUR FAMILY ALWAYS.
