Joanna Krupa Says She Was ‘Approached’ for RHOM Reboot But Refused the Drama

Former “Real Housewives of Miami” star Joanna Krupa has no regrets about leaving Bravo behind. The 45-year-old model and TV personality confirmed she was offered the chance to return when the franchise was revived in 2021 — but she chose to stay out of the chaos.

Joanna Krupa Explains Why She Said No to ‘Real Housewives of Miami’ Return

Joanna Krupa confirmed that Bravo approached her to join the franchise’s reboot — but she ultimately passed. The 45-year-old model and television host told Page Six Radio on SiriusXM that while she appreciated the offer, the timing wasn’t right.

“I was approached. I did have conversations about it,” Joanna shared while promoting her new animal rescue project, “Street Rescue.” “They asked me to think about it. But being a mother, I feel like it’s not the time in my life.”

Joanna said that while she isn’t opposed to reality TV in general, she doesn’t want to reenter the high-drama world that made “Housewives” famous. “Would I be against [the] reality [TV] world? Not at all. Would I be against this type of reality? Yes,” she explained. “I wouldn’t want my daughter to see mama in that kind of a situation because those shows are dramatic.”

The Former Model Reflects on RHOM and Choosing Peace Over Drama

Joanna first appeared on “RHOM” during seasons 2 and 3, from 2012 to 2013, where she quickly became one of the show’s most polarizing figures. Looking back, she admitted that life on Bravo wasn’t easy. “If you have no drama, you’re boring and you’re going to get canceled,” she said. “We all know these women will go out of their way — even if it was their best friend at one moment, they will backstab them eventually.”

The former model said that environment was “definitely not something” she wanted to return to. Instead, Joanna has focused on her daughter, Asha, whom she shares with ex-husband Douglas Nunes, and her growing list of international projects. She continues to host “Poland’s Next Top Model,” a gig she’s held for 14 years, while also working on a perfume line and her latest TV venture.

“I’m satisfied with my life. I’m very grateful for my projects,” she said. “I don’t need a show like ‘Miami’ to pay my bills … I’m not going to sell my soul to make a living like that.”

Joanna also reflected on the emotional toll of reality TV fame. “Sometimes, memes pop up on social media or somebody messages you when there’s reruns. I’m like, ‘Oh my gosh, embarrassing!’” she said with a laugh. “It was tough for me because I was already established when I joined. I felt like there were vultures on every corner waiting to say something dramatic.”

Despite the challenges, Joanna said she still keeps in touch with former co-stars Ana Quincoces, Lea Black, and Karent Sierra — proof that not all “Housewives” friendships end in drama.

“The Real Housewives of Miami” is streaming now on Peacock.

  1. Joanna stick to you guns. You are so right that it’s nothing but horrible fighting dirty language and chaos. It’s good to know that you don’t need that in your life. Grown woman acting like high-school mean girls. It’s only a matter of time before the whole franchise is over and done. We need some nice shows, like Carol Burnett, Everybody loves Raymond and so on and so on. Please let’s bring good wholesome shows back on TV. We’re all getting tired of watching exteremly rich woman who are all over the hill and act like spoiled kids. So Joanna you were the only classy ladie on that show.. Stick to your decision. Nobody watches it anyway. That’s why they need you and want you back. You go Joanna we all loved you. 😍
