“Wife Swap: The Real Housewives Edition” premiered in October 2025. Among the group of Bravo personalities who will swap places with a different mother is “Real Housewives of New Jersey” star Melissa Gorga. Now, she’s opening up about how the show changed Joe Gorga.
Gorga recently spoke to US Weekly about her experience on “Wife Swap: The Real Housewives Edition.” When asked how it changed her household, she shared, “I’m happy to report that he does now do the dishes at night, which is, I told him, it’s hot.”
She continued, “I’m like, ‘I am turned on by this. This is amazing. This is so manly,’ like, it really is. He’d be shocked to think that, like, a guy doing the dishes is such a manly thing, but I love it.”
The Gorgas have been married for over 20 years and share three kids: one daughter and two sons. Of course, he is the brother of “Real Housewives of New Jersey” OG Teresa Giudice.
Gorga was Hesitant to do ‘Wife Swap: The Real Housewives Edition’
The Gorgas have been staples on reality television since they joined “The Real Housewives of New Jersey” in 2011. Still, she was hesitant to sign on for “Wife Swap: The Real Housewives Edition.” She said, “I was just like, ‘What, you want me to move in and sleep in another person’s house? And there’s another man and their children and, like, whatever animals they have?'”
Gorga continued, “I was like, ‘Absolutely not.’ I instantly said no.” Regarding changing her mind, she said, “And then I thought about it, and I was like, ‘It’s kind of like one of those once in a lifetime experiences.’ … You have to do it. You have to say you did this, you know? And it was amazing. It was so emotional. I’m so happy I did it. It was really an incredible experience.”
She also said that her husband was completely on board with filming “Wife Swap: The Real Housewives Edition.” According to her, “In my defense, I have to leave my house and go sleep in a strange house … I couldn’t prepare for this. I couldn’t pack for this, and I couldn’t do anything.”
Gorga added, “So of course, he was down for it, because he’s at home with his own kids. … It’s a lot easier for the guys than it is for the girls.”
The Full Schedule for ‘Wife Swap’
“Wife Swap: The Real Housewives Edition” premiered on Bravo on October 21, with Angie Katsanevas’ episode being first. According to Deadline, “Real Housewives of Potomac” star Wendy Osefo was supposed to have the first episode, but it has now been moved to November 9.
Regarding the rest of the show, Gorga’s episode will air on October 28. Emily Simpson’s episode will then follow on November 4.
