Netflix released the much-talked-about documentary, “Reality Check: Inside America’s Next Top Model,” in February 2026. In it, former judges, contestants, and Tyra Banks herself open up about many of the most controversial moments from the iconic reality competition series. Now, one of the show’s winners, and “Real Housewives of Atlanta” alum Eva Marcille, is weighing in.
Marcille, who won “America’s Next Top Model” in 2004, appeared on CBS Mornings on February 19. While on the morning show, they asked for her reaction to the documentary. She began, “You know, when I first found out there was a documentary, I was amazed.
I remember reaching out to Jay Emmanuel, like, ‘Is this the same Top Model that we did, because how don’t I know about this?” She then confirmed that she was not asked to be a part of it.

GettyMarcille continued her conversation with CBS Mornings and revealed how watching the documentary about the show that made her a star felt. According to her, “And then I watched it, and after I watched it, I was gobsmacked. I was in awe.”
From there, she said, “To be a part of a club and not know what’s going on in the club is crazy.” Marcille also stated that, despite having “America’s Next Top Model” in common with the people featured in the documentary, she had no idea that any of what was reported in the three-part special was happening.
When asked what the reality series meant to her, she responded, “It was a competition. This was an opportunity for me to win $100,000 and to show the world that even though I’m shorter, even though, even though I’m not your average looking model, I have the goods.”
Toward the end of the documentary, Marcille acknowledged that she’s accomplished so much in her career, “Thanks to Top Model.” She also stated that she “will never fail to thank Tyra.”
In the end, host Gayle King asked Marcille whether the judges and contestants from “America’s Next Top Model” deserved a more sincere apology from Banks. She stated, “She apologized a million times, but an apology to the person that you’ve wronged is only as good as they could appriciate it.”
The ‘America’s Next Top Model’ Winner Has New Projects Coming Out
In additon to reacting to “Reality Check: Inside America’s Next Top Model,” Marcille has multiple projects on the horizon. One of her most anticipated is the fifth season of her Bet+ series “All The King’s Men.” The streamer hasn’t announced the show’s premiere date, but it’s expected in 2026.
Additionally, the former “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star will appear in an upcoming Lifetime movie, “Pushed Off a Plane and Survived.” The movie will premiere on February 28 at 8/7 p.m., and it also stars actor Tyler Lepley.
