Kelly Osbourne Bravely Speaks Out After Recent Body-Shaming Backlash

Grief is heavy enough in private. Living through it while strangers weigh in on your appearance can make it even more painful. Kelly Osbourne is once again speaking out after facing harsh criticism about her appearance.

On Monday, February 23, Osbourne, 41, shared a series of Instagram Stories addressing what she described as a wave of cruel comments directed at her.

“Literally can’t believe how disgusting some human beings truly are! No one deserves this sort of abuse!” Osbourne responded to the criticism, as reported by People.

In a separate Instagram Story, she followed up with a brief but bold response: “This too shall pass, but like, holy [expletive’].”

Recent Appearance Sparks Renewed Criticism

The criticism came shortly after her appearance at the Royal Ascot Millinery Collective Spring/Summer 2026 presentation in London on February 22. For the event, Osbourne chose an embellished, subtly sheer turtleneck dress. The reaction arrives during an especially vulnerable time in her life.

Ever since losing her beloved Dad Ozzy in July 2025, she has been open about how deeply grief has affected her, both physically and emotionally.

On December 10, she directly addressed what she described as “disgusting, horrible, mean, rude comments” circulating online.

“I’m just here to say, ‘What do you expect from me? What do you expect me to look like right now?’ The fact that I’m getting out of bed and facing my life and trying to be more than enough, I should be commended for that,” she said on Instagram.

Osbourne has said the scrutiny feels even heavier as she continues to grieve her father.

She pushed back at those leaving what she called “sick comments,” telling them they “need to take a strong, hard look” at themselves, because those things you say about me is how you feel about yourself.”

“For example, you say that I look ill. Well, I am ill right now. My life is completely flipped upside down. I don’t understand how people expect me to bounce back and look like everything is just fine in my life when it’s not,” she continued.

In another video that was later deleted, she addressed specific remarks directly.

“To the people who keep thinking they’re being funny and mean by writing comments like ‘Are you ill,’ or ‘Get off Ozempic, you don’t look right.’ My dad just died, and I’m doing the best that I can, and the only thing I have to live for right now is my family. And I choose to share my content with you and share the happy side of my life, not the miserable side of my life.”

Sharon Osbourne stepped in to defend her daughter during an interview with British broadcaster Piers Morgan.

“She’s right,” Sharon said. “She’s lost her daddy, she can’t eat right now.”

Kelly has long been open about her relationship with her body.

Kelly rose to fame when she appeared with her family on the reality show “The Osbournes”.

Since then, she underwent gastric sleeve surgery in 2018, as reported by People. She later embraced a healthier lifestyle and lost 85 pounds.

She has also spoken candidly about weight changes after welcoming her son, Sidney, with Sid Wilson in 2022. In 2024, she told People she gained 100 pounds postpartum.

“I just didn’t want pictures out there. I didn’t want to face it and have people be like, ‘Oh, she’s a moose!’ So I just cut the problem out,” she said at the time.

That same year, she addressed rumors that she used Ozempic for weight loss in an interview with “Extra.”

“I don’t know where that came from,” she said. Her message has stayed consistent.

Grief is not something you can edit or filter. Healing does not happen on anyone else’s schedule.
