Some birthdays look different after loss. For Kelly Osbourne, this one arrived with both love and grief. She marked her first birthday without her father, Ozzy Osbourne, who died last year at 76, by sharing throwback photos and the handwritten cards he once gave her, remembering the comfort of his words.
‘Tomorrow Will Suck Without You’: Kelly Writes Remembering Her Dad
In her emotional caption, Osbourne expressed how deeply she feels the absence of her father.
“Tomorrow is going to be a first for me—the first birthday without my dad. Every year, the thing I looked forward to the most was spending the day with him and the cards he would write me. Knowing that I will never get one again shatters my heart. Here are just a few of them. They were always short, simple but said everything I needed to hear. I love you, Daddy. Tomorrow will suck without you,” she wrote.
She set the post to Ozzy’s rendition of the Beatles’ song “In My Life.”
Fans Reach Out With Support & Love
As soon as the tribute went live, Osbourne’s followers flooded the comments with messages of encouragement and empathy.
“Oh, Kelly, thinking of you. Your dad was such an incredible person and he loved you so much. He is always with you. Happy birthday,” one wrote.
Another added, “He is always going to be with you, hun. We all LOVE you so much. Happy birthday. Big hugs.”
Many emphasized that her father’s presence would remain with her. One follower shared, “Those cards are beautiful. He’ll be there tomorrow. He’ll show you a sign.”
Remembering Ozzy’s Final Days
Ozzy Osbourne, the legendary Black Sabbath frontman and reality television figure, died of cardiac arrest. The New York Times confirmed that he had been living with coronary artery disease and Parkinson’s disease before his death.
In a statement at the time, the Osbourne family shared, “He was with his family and surrounded by love.” His daughter’s tribute reflected not only loss, but the depth of a father-daughter bond built over a lifetime of shared moments, words and music that will continue to resonate.
How Sharon Osbourne Is Navigating Deep Family Grief
Sharon Osbourne is also slowly finding her footing as she moves through grief. The television personality was seen in public for the first time since her husband’s funeral, quietly marking her 73rd birthday in London on October 9.
As per photos published by the US Sun, joined by a small group of close friends, Sharon visited the Miu Miu boutique, wearing a long black coat and jeans, as she browsed the new arrivals and spoke with staff. Those who saw her described her as composed and reflective, taking the day one small step at a time.
This birthday was a meaningful milestone for Sharon, who has spent much of the time since Ozzy’s passing in July out of the spotlight.
As the Osbournes bravely navigate their grief, it’s also a gentle reminder of their resilience in accepting life’s harshest truths.
