Season 14 of reality TV series, “Mountain Men” is almost here. It kicks off Wednesday, September 3, 2025 at 8:00pm ET on the History Channel (yep, you read that right: tonight). New episodes are also available for streaming the following day.
And this season promises all the grit, grind, and “how are they even surviving out here?” moments we’ve come to love. But it’s not just survival this time; there’s new blood, big milestones, and a farewell that’s sure to hit fans right in the feels.
WARNING: This post contains spoilers for “Mountain Men” Season 14.
New Faces, Big Challenges
Meet Chance and Soraya Painter, the young couple taking remote Alaskan life to the next level (with their three kids in tow). These two are doing it all: building a homestead, hunting, and basically parenting in a place where the closest coffee shop is days away.
Their journey gives the show a fresh energy. It reminds us that raising a family off the grid is not for the faint of heart. Fans will see them adapting, improvising, and proving that life in the wilderness can be chaotic, exhausting… and oddly inspiring.
Old Favorites, New Feats
Longtime fans, you’re in luck. A few familiar faces are back doing what they do best: surviving in some of the harshest conditions in North America.
- Marty Meierotto will be guiding his daughter Noah through her first bush plane landing; talk about keeping it in the family.
- Mike Horstman is still the Kodiak bear-hunting pro, hauling a 50-foot gangway across terrain that would make most of us cry.
- Jake Herak can be seen chasing mule deer down the Missouri River with his brother Bo, because of course he is.
- Lauro Eklund and his dad Neil are building traplines and fishing camps to prep for the Iditarod; sled dogs, snow, and chaos included.
Big Moments Are Happening
This season isn’t just about surviving… it’s about hitting milestones. The most emotional thing, though? It seems Tom Oar is saying goodbye after more than a decade on the show. Yep, it’s the end of an era, and fans are definitely going to feel it. This season’s teaser (seen below) has Oar talking about how “it’s hard to quit anything that you really like to do.” But getting older means, perhaps it’s time.
On the flip side, watching the Painters balance parenthood and homestead life adds a whole new layer to the series. And as usual, cast members are building, hunting, trapping, and risking it all in ways that make the wilderness look equal parts beautiful and brutal.
Season 14 of “Mountain Men” is shaping up to be a must-watch. Full of new stories, familiar faces, and the kind of wild adventures that keep fans coming back year after year. Get ready, this one’s going to be good.
