‘Love Island’ Star Recovering After Scary Attack: Report

A late-night incident involving “Love Island USA” alum Yulissa Escobar is under investigation after she reported a scary attack. The reality TV star was reportedly struck inside a Miami Beach Taco Bell, according to TMZ.

A Miami Beach Police Department incident report obtained by New Times states that the 27-year-old was inside the Taco Bell Cantina on Washington Avenue around 4 a.m. on December 29 when the encounter occurred. Escobar told TMZ that she and a friend had stopped at the restaurant after leaving LIV Nightclub earlier that night.

Report Details What Allegedly Happened Inside Taco Bell

According to the incident report, Escobar told police she was standing inside the restaurant waiting for her order when a man approached her and made inappropriate comments, including saying, “You look good.”

As per the report, Escobar told officers she did not engage and continued waiting in the restaurant.

After some time, a woman who was with the man allegedly approached her and struck her in the face. The report states that Escobar could not determine whether the strike was made with an open hand or a closed fist. Police said the two individuals then left the restaurant in a white Mercedes-Benz and traveled southbound on Washington Avenue.

TMZ reported that Escobar was hospitalized and later diagnosed with a concussion. She is currently resting at home and focusing on recovering. She has also chosen to take some time away from the internet.

No Arrests Made as Investigation Continues

Miami Beach Police Department spokesman Christopher Bess told New Times that officers are continuing to investigate the incident and are seeking surveillance footage from the restaurant.

No arrests have been made while writing this story. “It doesn’t matter [Escobar’s] status or celebrity,” Bess said. “Hopefully, our investigation can lead to some arrest or positive resolution.”

Escobar, who is from Miami, was announced as a contestant on Season 7 of “Love Island USA” in late May.

“Straight from Miami and headed to the villa! She’s all about kindness, connection, and staying true to who she is,” read the caption on an Instagram post announcing her casting, as reported by Miami New Times. “We can’t wait for you to get to know her heart, her humor, and everything in between.”

She left the series after the second episode, following an online clip that appeared to show her making controversial remarks.

The 25-year-old reality star took to X to let fans know she was preparing to be discharged following another medical emergency, offering reassurance as she continues to recover.
