A new season of TLC’s “1000-Lb. Sisters” is set to premiere on January 6, and a trailer for the eighth season teases major life changes for sisters Tammy and Amy Slaton. While Amy prepares to walk down the aisle with her fiancé, Brian Lovvorn, Tammy is turning her attention to what the future may hold with her girlfriend, Andrea Dalton.
In a new clip from the upcoming season, Tammy and Andrea sit down for a heartfelt conversation about what’s next, discussing everything from the possibility of marriage to taking the next step by moving in together.
Tammy Slaton Contemplates Moving in With Her Girlfriend on ‘1000-Lb. Sisters’
Warner Bros. Discovery“1000-Lb. Sisters” star Tammy Slaton has made significant strides in losing over 500 pounds. It has given her a completely different outlook on life, with the reality star even introducing fans to a new love interest in season 7.
An exclusive clip from the upcoming eighth season of the TLC show, obtained by Us Weekly, shows Tammy continuing her romance with her girlfriend, Andrea Dalton. However, their relationship takes a more serious turn when Andrea asks Tammy to consider moving in with her.
“I’ve been wanting to ask you something,” Andrea tells Tammy. “There’s really no way to say it, but would you want to move in with me for a while?”
Tammy responds, “Do you see, like, a long future marriage?” Andrea then replies, “I wouldn’t ask you to move in if I didn’t want it to go into marriage. So what do you think?”
Tammy happily agrees, telling her girlfriend, “I want to be with you.”
Speaking to the cameras, Tammy gleefully shares, “I’m officially moving in with Andrea. I’m super excited and kind of relieved, knowing that Andrea and I are on the same page.”
Tammy Opened up About Coming Out to Her Family in Season 7
Tammy revealed that she was seeing Andrea in the very first episode of season 7 of “1000-Lb. Sisters.” However, she admitted that she was keeping the fact that she was dating a woman a secret from her family.
“I have been seeing someone for the past couple months, and it’s going pretty well. I think I want to approach this relationship differently than I have in the past, so I haven’t told my family because my family is going to have something to say about it,” she shared.
In a later episode, Tammy finally finds the courage to tell her sisters Amy Slaton, Amanda Halterman and Misty Slaton Wentworth, that she is dating a woman. To her surprise, her siblings shared that they just want Tammy to be happy, whether it was with a man or woman.
“I’m really not sure why Tammy feels like we would have a problem with her dating a female. I have a son that’s gay. I don’t care as long as she treats you right,” Amanda shared. “So for her to pop off and say, ‘Well I know y’all probably don’t agree with me dating a woman,’ I mean I was completely taken aback by it, to be honest. It really surprised me.'”
They add that they actually always believed Tammy would be in a relationship with a woman. “If she makes you happy….that’s all we want for each other is just to be happy. That’s all,” Amanda tells her sister. “But I don’t want none of us to stop looking for it. Don’t just settle. Don’t stop until you find exactly what you’re looking for.”
