Who doesn’t love catching a glimpse at the behind-the-scenes action of one of their favorite television shows? If it contains some bloopers, then that is even better yet! “General Hospital” fans received a special gift this week courtesy of Chris McKenna, who plays Jack Brennan. The actor took to Instagram to share a reel of bloopers featuring the WSB office chief.
Jack Brennan Is Usually Super Serious, Unlike His Portrayer
ABCFans of the soap are used to seeing the character of Jack Brennan as serious as a heart attack. Unless he is exerting his power as chief and barking orders, sure, his scenes with Carly Spencer are much more gentle, but she is the only exception to his rule of harshness.
Chris McKenna, based on the reel that he posted, is quite the opposite. Between every scene shown is a moment of him dancing in his WSB office.
The scenes included in the clip were filmed around a video chat between Brennan and his nemesis, Valentin Cassadine, who is in a supermax prison. First, he finishes barking orders and comments that he was spitting during his lines. Then the clip jumps to him staring at a blank screen, but telling Valentin that he looks good.
Next, McKenna struggles to remember whether Cesar Faison’s head or brain is in a jar, so he flip-flops between the possibilities. He then struggles to hang up his office phone, and in the final segment, viewers see a stern-looking Brennan until the scene ends, at which point the actor bursts out laughing.
Chris McKenna Can’t Wait to Work With Erika Slezak
GettyEarlier this summer, it was announced that Erika Slezak has been cast as Monica Quartermaine’s sister on GH. The actress is revered for her work on “One Life to Live,” the daytime series where McKenna first got his start. He actually played her son, and cannot wait to reunite with her onscreen.
“I’m not just hoping to work with her—I’m gonna attack Frank if he doesn’t put me in at least one scene,” McKenna told Woman’s World. “I can’t wait to see her in the hallway. It’s going to be hard for me not to cry. It’ll be special to see her again, finally, and I just want to say one word with her on camera. Let me ask her where the bathroom is. Anything!”
“Working with multiple people from One Life to Live is blowing my mind,” he continued. “It’s really cool to have so many decades pass and now see where we are in our lives. Frank was an assistant stage manager back in the day, so it’s incredible to see how sharp and involved he is and how much he cares. It’s all very special.”
