Lynn Herring Gets Love From ‘General Hospital’ Co-Stars on Her Anniversary
The official Instagram account for the ABC soap released a video featuring “General Hospital” stars gushing over Herring to mark 40 years since her debut. Giovanni Mazza (Gio) kicked things off by playing a little guitar in honor of Herring.
Nearly every single cast member showed up to gush over their love for Herring and to wish her a happy anniversary. Some moments stood out above the rest, though, with stars who work closely with Herring adding a special touch to their messages.
On the show, Ava (Maura West) and Lucy are vying for the affection of Sidwell (Carlo Rotta). West and Rotta took a moment to express their happiness for Herring and how much she means to them.
Cynthia Watros (Nina) chimed in to say, “The whole show is blessed to have you,” and it was a sentiment that Rick Hearst (Ric) echoed. The actor expressed that the show would not be where it is without Herring, “So grateful for you and your talent and the light you bring to us every single day.”
Herring’s long-time co-stars John J. York (Mac) and Kristina Wagner (Felicia) called her the best. Amanda Setton (Brook Lynn) said, “I love you so much and may you have another 40 here.”
“General Hospital” icon Jane Elliot (Tracy) shared, “Happy anniversary, Lynn. I love you.” Maurice Benard (Sonny) wished Herring a happy anniversary and called her “the best.”
Rebecca Herbst (Elizabeth) feels lucky to have had Herring in her life for so many years and admitted she adores her. Cameron Mathison (Drew) was blown away that Herring has been on the show for 40 years. The actor also referred to her as an inspiration.
Dominic Zamprogna (Dante) called her a “beacon of positivity”, while Nancy Lee Grahn wished her “gal pal” a happy 40th anniversary.
There was no shortage of love and appreciation for Herring as she marked her major milestone.
Lynn Herring’s Soap Journey
On April 11, 1986 Lucy Coe showed up in Port Charles with flair for the dramatic that never stopped. After six years, Herring left to pursue other projects and landed on “Days of Our Lives,” playing Lisanne Gardner.
Unfortunately, the character was never really developed, leading Herring to ask to be released from her contract. The powers that be at “Days of Our Lives” agreed.
Herring then returned to “General Hospital” for years. She even took Lucy to the “General Hospital” spin-off, “Port Charles,” where she stayed for the soap’s six-year run.
When “Port Charles” was canceled, Herring briefly went back to “General Hospital” before leaving again for eight years. During that time, Herring played Audrey Coleman on “As the World Turns.”
Herring again returned to “General Hospital”, where she has been a regular for nearly 15 years, as Lucy remains a key player on the ABC soap.
