There’s a new face coming to Port Charles this summer. “General Hospital” has recast Scout Cain, the daughter of Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) and the late Sam McCall (Kelly Monaco).
The announcement has already generated plenty of buzz among fans, with many eager to see what the character’s return could mean for some of Port Charles’ most connected families.

Kayden Brenna Tokarski Joins “General Hospital” As The New Scout Cain
Drew Cain may currently be unable to speak and confined to a wheelchair thanks to Willow’s actions, but help could soon arrive from an unexpected source. His daughter, Scout Cain, is heading back to Port Charles this summer with a brand-new face.
Scout is the daughter of Drew and the late Sam McCall, making her part of two of Port Charles’ most prominent families. Through Drew, she is a member of the Quartermaine family, while her grandmother, Alexis Davis, ties her to the Cassadine clan as well.
Now, the role is being recast as part of the character’s rapid aging. Sixteen-year-old Kayden Brenna Tokarski has been tapped to play the new Scout, taking over the role from 13-year-old Cosette Abinante. With Scout returning as a teenager, her arrival could bring plenty of new drama to Port Charles this summer.
Katelyn MacMullen Welcomes Her New On-Screen Stepdaughter
After news of her casting broke, Tokarski took to Instagram to celebrate the milestone with her followers.
The budding soap star wrote, “A DREAM COME TRUE. So honored to be joining the @generalhospitalabc family!! Biggest thanks to @markteschner @fvalentinigh for giving me the opportunity of a lifetime to work on this iconic show. And special thanks to @ivyartistsmanagement for always believing in me!!”
The announcement quickly drew support from her new “General Hospital” co-stars, including Katelyn MacMullen, who plays Scout’s stepmother, Willow Cain.
MacMullen shared a photo of herself and Tokarski on her Instagram Stories and offered a simple but heartfelt welcome to her new on-screen family member, writing, “Welcome!!”
The sweet exchange gave fans their first glimpse of the actresses together and hinted at the scenes they’ll soon be sharing in Port Charles.
Fans React To Scout’s Rapid Aging Ahead Of Summer Storylines
After The Stone Cold and the Jackal Instagram account reposted MacMullen’s welcome message, fans quickly began discussing what the recast could mean for Scout’s future in Port Charles.
One fan wrote, “Great, she is as old as Danny and Rocco, dah.” The fan is referencing Scout’s older half-brother, Danny Morgan, and her former “almost step-brother” Rocco Falconeri.
As “GH” fans will remember, the three kids were raised together back when Danny and Scout’s mom, Sam McCall, was in a relationship with Rocco’s dad, Dante Falconeri. Dante even proposed to Sam, right before she passed away on Halloween in 2024.
Given that Scout was always portrayed as the younger sister of the two boys, one fan added, “So are Danny and Rocco aging up? Because Scout looks as old or older, and she is supposed to be the little sister.”
With Scout’s character being SORASed (Soap Opera Rapid Aging Syndrome), she might just be adding to the teenage drama this summer in Port Charles as there has been no indication that either Finn Carr, who plays Rocco, or Asher Antonyzyn, who plays Danny, are being recast.
Not all of the reactions focused on the character’s age, however. Some fans were simply excited to see the support between the actresses. One viewer commented, “Aw, Katey, so sweet. Step mom & daughter, excited for their scenes.”
Whether fans are debating Scout’s age or looking forward to her future storylines, it’s clear that her return is already generating buzz ahead of a potentially dramatic summer in Port Charles.
And perhaps the biggest question of all is what Scout’s return means for Drew. With Drew currently trapped in a wheelchair and unable to communicate, his daughter could find herself at the center of a major storyline.
