‘General Hospital’ Star Previews Fallout of Jason Covering for Rocco

General Hospital” gave fans a twist they never saw coming to write Steve Burton (Jason) out for his temporary break. Rocco (Finn Carr) shooting Cullum (Andrew Hawkes) to save Jason, and then Jason covering for him, will have lasting implications for the ABC soap. Carr has teased what that looks like as lives are forever changed in Port Charles.

Finn Carr Teases Aftermath of Jason Helping Rocco on ‘General Hospital’

Speaking with Soap Opera Digest, Carr opened up about the unexpected and exciting storyline for him. Rocco coming to grips with shooting someone is one thing, but on top of that, he has to lie to everyone he knows but his mother, Lulu (Alexa Havins), Jason, and Nathan (Ryan Paevey).

“He’s trying to come to terms with it as much as he can, but it messes with him that Jason took the fall for what he did. I think Rocco finding out what Jason did for him planted the seed of him realizing that there are going to be a lot more issues to come,” the soap star expressed.

After all, lying isn’t Rocco’s strong suit, so that and the guilt are going to be a challenge for him. Carr admitted that not being a good liar is a strong character trait for Rocco, and he’s been having a blast playing him, doing something that isn’t natural to him.

“He feels pretty stuck. It’s so frustrating for Rocco to realize that even telling the truth won’t really help him,” Carr stated.

Jason stepped up for Rocco, but it left Danny (Asher Antonyzyn) once again without his dad. The guilt of that weighs heavily on Rocco, considering he and Danny are like brothers.

‘General Hospital’s Rocco Changed Forever

Rocco must also deal with the fact that he shot someone. That’s not an easy feat for anyone, let alone a teenage boy. Carr admitted to the outlet that Rocco’s innocence was taken away in that one moment where he reacted without thinking.

“This is a huge moment for him. I mean, shooting someone, for a nice guy like Rocco, is a moment that definitely alters how his brain is going to go about thinking about things later. I think it’s going to callous him, in a way. It’ll toughen him up,” he shared.

Carr confirmed the fallout of this storyline will play out for months to come. Burton is on a temporary break until the summer, but “General Hospital” fans will have plenty of juicy entertainment in this storyline without Jason on the canvas.

The more this storyline unfolds on the ABC soap, the more Rocco’s relationships with those close to him will be impacted. Lulu has his back, but when his dad Dante (Dominic Zamprogna) and Danny find out what really went down, they will never see him the same again.

Carr has earned mad praise for his performance during the shooting and the aftermath. The actor has expressed his gratitude to the fans for their kind words and let them know it means the world to him.
