“The Young and the Restless” star Camryn Grimes (Mariah Copeland) and voice actor Brock Powell have officially said “I do,” three years after their engagement.
On Saturday, November 8, Grimes and Powell tied the knot in an “intimate” ceremony at the Columns Hotel in New Orleans. The couple’s wedding featured a local pianist, street parade, and tarot card reader.
“Travel is very important to both of us,” the couple told PEOPLE. “We wanted our friends and family to feel like they’re on an adventure with us — a few days to explore a new place, eat some incredible food, and take in everything New Orleans has to offer. And at the end, throw an incredible party and thank them for their support and love!”
Inside ‘The Young & the Restless’ Star Camryn Grimes & Brock Powell’s Wedding
Grimes and Powell’s destination wedding was attended by approximately 75 guests, including “The Young and the Restless” star Hayley Erin (Claire Newman) and “General Hospital” alum Robert Palmer Watkins (ex-Dillon Quartermaine).
The couple opted for a venue that gave off a sophisticated and spooky vibe, capturing their theme beautifully.
“It’s a little moody, a little funky, but at the same time very classy and historic,” Grimes explained.
During the wedding procession, the couple’s favorite song, “Dearly Beloved,” by Yoko Shimomura, was played. “The Voice of Disneyland,” Bill Rogers, officiated the ceremony.
“The Young and the Restless” actress looked breathtaking in her elegant two-piece look from KYHA. Grimes told the outlet that she fell in love with the dress during her first bridal appointment.
After the ceremony, a brass band led the newlyweds and their guests in a lively second line parade, dancing and waving handkerchiefs.
The festivities carried on with the couple sharing their first dance to Stevie Nicks’ “Crystal.” Guests dined buffet-style and indulged in freshly baked beignets. A memorial table honored the couple’s late loved ones, ensuring they could “celebrate with them in spirit.”
It Was a Long Time Coming
Grimes and Powell joke that their wedding is long overdue. The couple romantically connected in 2020 and got engaged in 2022.
And while it took three years for them to finally tie the knot, the actress always knew he was the one for her.
“I knew very early on that I wanted to do life with this person, and we have had some crazy things to contend with thus far,” Grimes said following her engagement. “Every day we choose each other, so as a team, anything seems possible.”
As for what’s next, the newlyweds revealed they will have a family trip to New Zealand, followed by a honeymoon in Fiji. “The Young and the Restless” star is also working on a children’s book with her husband, which is dedicated to their son.
