‘Star Trek’ Star Bids Goodbye to Beloved Character – Fans Send Love

Anson Mount is saying goodbye to his character as “Star Trek: Strange New Worlds” wraps production.

The actor, who portrays Captain Christopher Pike, took to Instagram on Saturday to give fans a mini tour of the show’s set.

The video shows Mount walking through various shooting sets, including the interior of the ship. He appears emotional at the end of the clip as he waves goodbye.

Mount began playing Captain Pike in 2019, during the second season of “Star Trek: Discovery.”

Meanwhile, fans flooded the comment section with touching messages for the “Star Trek” star.

One fan wrote, “This actually brought tears to my eyes, especially the end wave. I’d miss those sets (and all the memories made on them) too.”

Another commented, “Okay I’ve got a little tear in my eye. I can only imagine what you, the cast and entire crew must be feeling. The friendships made, the memories. The family of ‘Star Trek’! This isn’t goodbye.”

Someone added, “Oh god, why did you make me cry. This was epic, Captain. I’ll miss you. And the crew.”

“Star Trek: Strange New Worlds” has been renewed by Paramount+ for seasons 4 and 5, which are expected to premiere in 2026 and 2027, respectively.


What Happens Next?

Despite “Star Trek: Strange New Worlds” wrapping up its production, fans can still expect something more from the series.

According to Screen Rant, there are still 16 episodes to come between the final two seasons on Paramount+. In addition, the cast members who play the crew of Captain Pike’s Starship Enterprise are expected to promote the series for the next couple of years.

Aside from Mount, other “Star Trek: Strange New Worlds” cast members also said their goodbyes to the series.

Celia Rose-Gooding, who plays Nyota Uhura, wrote on Instagram, “5-year mission complete. She’s Wrapped! Long Live Star Freedom.”

Christina Chong, who portrays La-an Noonien-Singh, posted her goodbye, saying “Today was the end of a 5 year mission for La’an, and what an incredible one it was…”

Martin Quinn (Scotty) took to Instagram Stories and posted a photo of his trailer door, “That’s a wrap on Scot-man.”

Jess Bush, who plays Nurse Chapel, wrote, “This feeling is very big. I could not be more thankful for the five years I got to spend growing with this group of people. That’s a wrap on the chap.”
