Longtime “Survivor” host Jeff Probst confirmed the news in an Instagram post on Wednesday, August 27, telling fans, “Since ‘Survivor’ loves to try new things, I’m very excited to announce our latest ‘Survivor’ first. We are launching the ultimate ‘Survivor’ fan cafe experience opening soon in Boston.”
“We were inspired to create a real-life destination where fans can come together and celebrate everything they love about ‘Survivor,’” Probst added, encouraging local Boston fans to come visit the all-new location when it opens on September 3, just weeks before the highly anticipated premiere of “Survivor 49.”
Probst’s video was accompanied by a press release from CBS, which confirmed that the “Ultimate ‘Survivor’ Cafe Fan Experience” would be coming to Boston’s The Greatest Bar next month, a location that boasts ties to “Survivor” players both past and present.
Not only is The Greatest Bar owned and opperated by “Survivor 49” castaway Shannon Fairweather’s parents, it also previously employeed legendary “Survivor” winner and Boston icon Rob ‘Boston Rob’ Mariano.
What to Expect from Boston’s ‘Survivor Ultimate Fan Cafe’
Despite the bar’s pre-established “Survivor” connections, the location will recieve a brand-new island glow-up ahead of the grand opening, including a number of iconic set pieces pulled from the longrunning series’ 25-year history. Among the decor features coming to the “‘Survivor’ Ultimate Fan Cafe” are a Tribal Council voting booth and fire pit as well as a “Winner’s Wall” where patrons can be immortalized by succeeding in an assortment of replicas of the show’s iconic challenges that test both their brains and their brawn.
Thankfully for patrons, however, you won’t have to give up food or the creature comforts of home to enjoy a visit to the first-ever “Survivor” cafe. In fact, the venture will feature an appropriately themed Polynesian-fusion menu designed by “MasterChef” finalist Becky Brown. A first look at the menu teases themed dishes including a “Sole Survivor Ceviche,” “New Era Laksa Noodles,” “Campfire Carnitas Tacos” and a delectable “Double Elimination Burger.”
Fans can similarly wash down their meals with an array of “Survivor” themed cocktails and shared pitchers with clever names like “Jungle Juice” and “Hidden Immunity Punch.”
CBS Partners with Bucket Listers to Bring New Fan Experience to Life
CBS partnered with experience booking agency Bucket Listers to bring the “‘Survivor’ Ultimate Fan Cafe’ to life.
“The ‘Survivor Ultimate Fan Cafe’ is a celebration of the show and its incredibly passionate fanbase in Boston, which is also home to many popular past castaways and a few players in the upcoming 49th and 50th seasons,” said Mike Benson, President and Chief Marketing Officer at CBS. “Partnering with Bucket Listers for this multifaceted immersive experience delivers on our commitment to create innovative, authentic and fun opportunities for the ‘Survivor’ community – and beyond – especially in the lead-up to the show’s landmark 50th season.”

Fans and Former Players Alike Praise ‘Survivor’s’ Latest Venture
While tickets for the upcoming experience have yet to become available, they have been priced at $30 per person for a 90-minute reservation. Eager fans can, however, join a waitlist to get notified when ticket sales begin, although, given the current response from fans and former players alike, they may be difficult to attain.
“Can I get on the waitlist please?” pleaded “Survivor 50” castaway Charlie Davis in the comments of the Instagram post announcing the cafe fan experience.
“Darn it, you got me, I’m in,” added Rick Devens, who will similarly appear on the 50th season next February.
