The highly-anticipated premiere on “Survivor 49” is just weeks away from welcoming a brand-new batch of castaways to the beaches of Fiji for the chance to outwit, outplay and outlast their way to the show’s $1 million grand prize.
Buzz for the upcoming season has grown expontentially since the official cast list was revealed by the network on August 20.
Now, CBS has similarly uncovered details about the upcoming premiere episode, including its title and synopsis, as well as some sneak peek photos of this season’s cast in action as they hit the ground running on “Survivor” Season 49.
What to Expect from the Premiere Episode of ‘Survivor 49’?
CBS released new information regarding the premiere episode of “Survivor 49,” alongside other networks series like “FBI,” “Ghosts” and “NCIS,” in a major drop on Monday (August 25).
Titled “Act One of a Horror Film,” the episode’s official synopsis reads, “18 strangers are abandoned on the islands of Fiji with the chance to win $1 million. Tribes must claim victory in the greuling marooning challenge to earn essential camp supplies. Then castaways are chosen to face off with a huge reward on the line, on the two-hour season premiere.”
Like other new-era seasons, the synoposis suggests that the forthcoming premiere episode will not feature a Tribal Council ceremony or an elimination. The recent announcement was joined by some first-look photos from “Survivor 49,” including a glimpse at this season’s marooning challenge and camp life.
When Does ‘Survivor 49’ Premiere?
“Survivor 49” is currently slated to make its grand two-hour debut on Wednesday, September 24 at 8:00pm ET.
The most recent season of the long-running competition series, “Survivor 48,” aired its finale episode on May 21, just a week before CBS announced the official cast of “Survivor 50: In the Hands of the Fans.” The all-star cast of former players, including two castaways making their series debut on “Survivor 49,” will make their return to the competition for the landmark season in Feburary 2026.
Where Can I Watch ‘Survivor 49’ on TV and Streaming?
New episodes of “Survivor 49” will continue to air on CBS Wednesday’s throughout the fall, with the season projected to wrap up in mid-December. Episodes will be available to stream on Paramount Plus the day after they air on CBS.
Who is on the Cast of ‘Survivor 49’?
18 new castaways will officially join the “Survivor” family when Season 49 airs next month. The cast includes a former Marvel Studios executive producer, a NASA rocket scientist and a professional hockey player amongst others.
