The fallout surrounding Taylor Frankie Paul’s canceled season of “The Bachelorette” is getting louder. And former voices from inside the franchise are speaking out.
Emmanuel Acho, who previously stepped in to host a reunion special, is questioning how the situation unfolded in the first place. In a video on TikTok, Acho shared his thoughts about the show production team vetting Paul prior to her casting.
Emmanuel Acho Believes ‘Bachelor’ Production Was Aware of Taylor Frankie Paul’s Controversy
Former ‘Bachelor’ reunion host Emmanuel Acho had his own opinion about Taylor Frankie Paul’s initial casting amid her controversial home incident.
To Acho, he believes that production knew of Paul’s controversy long before it hit the internet.
Acho held up a preparation binder he was given for one reunion episode of “The Bachelor.” He hosted the “After the Final Rose” reunion special for Season 25 of the hit show.
“I hosted one episode, a 44-minute episode, and this is how thorough of a job they did in prepping me and looking me up just for one episode,” the former NFL player said.
As he flipped through the binder, he detailed the immense preparation. “You’re talking about schedule, act breakdown, rundown, a whole freaking script just for one episode,” Acho said.
“So if you’re doing all of this research, all of this preparation, for me to host one episode, imagine the amount of research, imagine the amount of preparation, you have to do to invest the entire season into this woman of Taylor Frankie Paul,” he argued.
He added, “You’re not turning over the keys to the franchise to a woman you have not thoroughly, thoroughly, thoroughly vetted.”
Paul was involved in a domestic violence incident with her ex, Dakota Mortensen. A released video, filmed by Mortensen, showed Paul throwing chairs at him. Her young daughter, Indy, was also in the room.
“The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” star’s season of “The Bachelorette” has officially been canceled by ABC.
Other Stars Have Weighed in on the Cancellation
GettyOther reality stars have also shared their thoughts on the controversial moment between Taylor Frankie Paul and Dakota Mortensen.
Sydney Warner, a former star of “The Bachelor,” believed that Paul did not appreciate the platform in general.
“To watch this and see the soon-to-be lead completely disrespect the stage that she has been given, the men who put their entire lives on hold to come and meet her is horrible,” Warner shared (via Cosmopolitan). “What has happened to morals and values?”
On the flip side, Bethenny Frankel agreed that production knew about this before filming. Therefore, the cancellation “doesn’t make any sense.”
Frankel shared on Instagram, “They knew about her domestic violence past, and apparently, they cast her as the first non-Bachelor nation person, and they wanted the controversy and the redemption.”
Taylor Frankie Paul also broke her silence on the cancellation of her season through a spokesperson.
The rep shared in a statement to PEOPLE, “Taylor is very grateful for ABC’s support as she prioritizes her family’s safety and security.”
The statement added, “She is currently exploring all of her options, seeking support, and preparing to own and share her story.”

How did ABC not realize TFP was such a train wreck before recruiting. her for the bachelorette?!?!
I agree. It is shameful a waste of time for the poor ment that probably realized that she was a bit OFF.
