BREAKING: ABC Cancels Taylor Frankie Paul’s Season of ‘The Bachelorette’

ABC has made the final decision regarding Taylor Frankie Paul’s upcoming season of “The Bachelorette” which was set to premiere on Sunday, March 22.

According to TMZ, ABC has decided to cancel this season, with a Disney Entertainment spokesperson telling the outlet, “In light of the newly released video just surfaced today, we have made the decision to not move forward with the new season of ‘The Bachelorette’ at this time, and our focus is on supporting the family.”

This comes after an upsetting video involving Paul and her ex Dakota Mortensen was released.

Paul was set to make history by becoming the first-ever lead in the franchise to not have appeared on a show prior. However, her journey to find love won’t be for public eyes as ABC has decided to remove it following this recent controversy.

The resurfaced video is said to be from 2023 and was filmed by Mortensen. Following this, a spokesperson for Paul shared a statement with People.

“It’s sad to see the latest installment of his never-ending, desperate, attention-seeking, destructive campaign to harm Taylor without any regard for the consequences for their child,” the spokesperson said. “Releasing an old video, which conveniently omits context, on their son’s birthday is a reprehensible attempt to distract from his own behavior.”

“Thankfully, the public has seen this act before and knows who he is and sadly, many will recognize this pattern of manipulation, both in his actions on the show, and from their own experiences,” the statement concluded.

Just before news that “The Bachelorette” was canceled, production on the fifth season of “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” was paused due to a fight between Taylor Frankie Paul and her ex-boyfriend, Dakota Mortensen, TMZ reported.

According to the outlet, it’s “unclear exactly what sparked the fight, but our sources say the situation became intense enough that filming couldn’t continue as planned.”

It’s also unclear how long production will be paused as they are “taking the matter seriously and handling with caution.”

PEOPLE further added that the Draper City Police Department confirmed there is an open “domestic assault investigation” involving Paul and Mortensen, as “allegations have been made in both directions” and “contact was made with involved parties on [Feb] 24 and 25.”

  1. I have commented before that I did not approve the choice of this volatile woman as the Bachelorette that does not have her life in order. I am not surprised and am glad this season has been cancelled. Who wants a woman like her in their life at the moment.
