Production has been paused on the fifth season of “The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives,” TMZ reports.
And it’s due to a fight between Taylor Frankie Paul, and her ex-boyfriend, Dakota Mortensen. According to the outlet, it’s “unclear exactly what sparked the fight, but our sources say the situation became intense enough that filming couldn’t continue as planned.”
It’s also unclear how long production will be paused as they are “taking the matter seriously and handling with caution.”

GettyFrankie Paul and Mortensen sparked romance rumors first in August 2022 after she shared a post on TikTok with the caption, “is timing a thing? or can I let this be?” And in the comments section, Mortensen wrote, “Lucky guy whoever he is,” to which Frankie Paul replied, “you’d be surprised how similar you two are…”
A month later, Mortensen made his debut on Frankie Paul’s TikTok page, but in December, she announced that the two had broken up. A month later, they got back together. In February 2023, Frankie Paul was arrested for misdemeanor charges after an argument with Mortensen. As of June 2023, the two were still together, and in September, they announced that they were expecting a baby together. The baby was born in March 2024, but the two split once again in September 2024. However, in a cryptic post in October, she implied that she was “back with the same man I said I’m done with.” But December 2024 was when they broke up again.
In April 2025, the two attended Stagecoach together, sharing photos that showed them very close. But in September 2025, Frankie Paul was named the next Bachelorette.
In an interview with US Weekly in March 2026, Frankie Paul opened up about why she accepted the offer to lead ABC’s hit show.
“I didn’t have to do this… There was no other reason for me to do this other than I wanted to get outside of Utah and the toxicity that I’m in and venture off and really do something for myself,” she told the outlet.

Frankie Paul is making history, becoming the first event lead in the franchise to not have appeared on a show prior. And with that, the new season of “The Bachelorette” will be hitting the screens very soon.
The show will premiere on Sunday, March 22, 2026, at 8 p.m. ET/PT on ABC. Episodes will stream the next day on Hulu.
