Mayci Neeley opened up about a scary moment with her newborn daughter, Charli, who was recently hospitalized.
According to PEOPLE, the “Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” star shared a series of posts on her Instagram story on March 12, revealing that she took her eight-month-old to the hospital.
“Wanted to give an update for awareness [because] trusting my instincts was absolutely crucial,” she said, sharing a picture of her daughter and her husband, Jacob Neeley, in the hospital, adding that she began to have an “anxious, sick feeling” about her daughter during the week.
“Our nanny was holding her, and I could tell just by touching her that her temp was high,” Neeley added, saying that her daughter’s temperature was 102°F and she seemed “lethargic.” She added that she noticed Charli’s stomach “seemed to be contracting” unusually.
That’s when Neeley and her husband made the decision to go to the hospital.
“Once they sucked her nose they listened to her breathing and said that she sounded wheezy and that it would be good for her to get a breathing treatment,” she wrote. “They also looked in her ears and said they were both infected as well. They said they wanted to her to go into the ER side of the hospital to check her breathing out a little more and get that breathing treatment done.”
Neeley has since shared a positive update, revealing that Charli was discharged and was instructed by doctors to rest while being on oxygen.
“We are home and Charli girl finally smiled for the first time in a few days which makes me feel like she’s finally feeling better,” Mayci said.
Mayci Neeley Encourages Mother’s To Trust Their Instincts
Neeley detailed how the “anxiety & stress and sadness I felt was unreal.”
“But ultimately I felt so grateful I trusted my instincts! The doctor kept telling me ‘You did the right thing by coming in,’ which reassured me,” she said.
So with that, she is encouraging parents to always trust their instincts when it comes to their children.
“I wanted to tell this story because I trusted my intuition and gut, and it was completely right and crucial,” she said. “So mamas/parents – trust your intuition!!”
“I honestly didn’t really realize how bad she was struggling until the hospital so I’m so so so grateful we took her in,” she continued. “I was also supposed to be in New York for work yesterday and cancelled that trip a few days ago. Call it divine intervention or coincidence but I do think everything happens for a reason.”
