‘Bachelor’ Casting Twist Gives Taylor Frankie Paul’s Men a Second Chance

Even though the men who appeared on Taylor Frankie Paul’s scrapped season of “The Bachelorette” may not be seen on air, they could have another opportunity coming down the pipeline.

According to an exclusive report from TMZ this week, some of the men in consideration to become the next “Bachelor” are coming from Paul’s season 22. This is unprecedented within the “Bachelor” franchise, as a lead from a season never-before-seen has never been the one handing out roses.

Paul’s season of “The Bachelorette” was canceled after an explosive video showing a physical altercation between the “Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” star and her ex, Dakota Mortensen. ABC issued a statement shortly after the video was leaked, sharing their well wishes for Paul and her family.

Casting is underway for “The Bachelor.” The casting call include an “undisclosed number” of men featured on season 22 of “The Bachelorette,” TMZ reports, citing a source.

The search reportedly began a few weeks ago.

A date for the premiere of season 30 “The Bachelor” could be pushed to January 2027, TMZ adds. The show typically shoots in the fall.

Traditionally, the “Bachelor” lead comes from a season viewers have already watched. If TMZ’s report proves accurate, producers would be choosing from a pool of men the audience has never officially met.

If men from Paul’s season of “The Bachelorette” don’t get cast on another Bachelor Nation show, they may still have an opportunity to be seen on TV.

“Big Brother” legend and reality TV casting agent Rachel Reilly announced amid the cancellation news that she was looking to put these men on a different show. The show itself has not been revealed, but it’s known that Reilly is currently casting for Netflix’s “Temptation Island.”

Will Taylor Frankie Paul’s Canceled Season of ‘The Bachelorette’ Ever Air?

As far as the nixed season airing, that’s still up in the air.

Several insiders, including producers, ABC exec Rob Mills and reality blogger Reality Steve, basically said the season is in limbo. It might air. It might not.

In a May 4 Instagram video, the reality TV insider said his sources told him Paul’s season will air this summer on ABC.

“According to my sources, it is going to air,” Reality Steve said. “And not only that, it’s not getting dumped on a streamer. It’s going to air on ABC this summer.”

ABC executive Rob Mills has not confirmed that the “Secret Lives of Mormon Wives” star’s season will air, but he has spoken positively about it.

In an April 22 interview with Variety, Mills described the situation as “one day at a time,” although he said there was “nothing new to report” on the status of “The Bachelorette.”

He left room for the season to be seen someday.

“I think her season is a wonderful season, by ‘Bachelor’ standards,” Mills said. “If it gets seen, I’m sure people will absolutely enjoy it.”

It should be noted that none of this confirms that ABC has officially said the season is back. It also does not mean the network has announced a date.
