Star Trek Night Begins

“The Masked Singer” is celebrating the 60th anniversary of “Star Trek” tonight, with Ken Jeong dressed as Spock! Four contestants will perform tonight, but only two of them will survive the night and join Pugcasso, Crane, and Pangolin in the semifinals. Yes, we have a double elimination tonight, so watch with us to see how it plays out!

Stingray

For his Colossal Clue tonight, he said he’s been trekking with the biggest stars his whole life, including someone else in this competition. He said he’s been enjoying listening to their guesses, but don’t cling-on to this one, Rita.  He said he’s not Jason Derulo, and then we see a silver glove, like Michael Jackson’s glove.

For his performance, he sings “Starboy” by The Weeknd. I am intrigued about this one, as he’s such a good singer. He’s a performer, but also linked to someone else in the competition? Regardless, another great performance for Stingray, and he’s up there working those hips again.

When explaining his Colossal Clue, he said he’s been surrounded by some amazing people since he was very young. Michael was one of them, but the best part about him is that he made me believe that everything was magic.

Panel Feedback

Nick said that Stingray is definitely a star. Rita said we have entered Stingray’s galaxy. What an opening of a show.

Ken said the glove can only mean one thing: Michael Jackson. He believes Stingray is Chris Tucker. He was in a music video with Michael Jackson. Tucker was also in the movie “Air” about Michael Jordan, and there was a basketball clue last time.

Jenny said someone who is a very good singer who played Michael Jackson on Broadway is Jordan Fisher. He was also in the “High School Musical” series to go with the basketball clue. Robin said he and Rita know a lot of the same people, and the MJ glove takes it over the top for him. We heard clues that referenced being the child of a very famous parent. Rita said she also believes Michael Jackson is his godfather, but they both say this is Evan Ross, the son of Diana Ross.

Cat Witch on ‘The Masked Singer’

For her Colossal Clue, she said this is a totally new frontier for her. She said she’s been playing games with them all, especially Robin Thicke. She said she comes from a very talented family, and one of them has worked closely with him. We then see Piglet and the Black Swan, both from season 5 of the show. Piglet was Nick Lachey, and the Black Swan was JoJo.

For her performance, she sings “Starships” by Nicki Minaj. Another good performance by Cat Witch, but of course, we all know who this one is because of America’s Insider twist. She was definitely working those dance moves tonight.

When explaining her Colossal Clue, she said that Robin isn’t the only one with ties to her talented family. JoJo and Nick Lachey have ties, too. In her America’s Insider video, she explains that her dad was a songwriter and wrote songs for JoJo, Nick, and even Robin.

Panel Feedback

Jenny said she doesn’t require any magic because she is full of talent. Robin said a person that comes to mind that he has worked with is Britney Spears and Jamie Lynn Spears, so he’s thinking it could be her.

Rita said that with High Voltage, the clue was right in front of their faces. Could this be the same thing? She thinks this could be any of the members of KATSEYE, the K-pop group. Ken said it’s about logic. The only person who could link all of those clues together is Vanessa Lachey.

14 Karat Carrot

For his Colossal Clue, he said his whole life has been about living long and prospering. He said the panelists have been guessing Motown legends, but he’s about to take everything off the table. We then see Johnny Gill, a member of New Edition. He said 14 Karat has been like a brother to him, and they’ve ripped together for years. However, singing is not 14 Karat’s day job.

For his performance, he sings “Shining Star” by Earth, Wind, & Fire. The panelists seem to be impressed, but I am not with this one. It was okay, but nothing stood out to me.

When explaining his Colossal Clue, he said he and Johnny have been friends for years, as well as the group, New Edition. Every time he asks them to join the group, they tell him to stay in his own court.

Panel Feedback

Robin said he was hitting those falsettos, and it was his best performance yet. Jenny asks about his fanny pack, which has the scales of justice on it. This would tie in the “court” reference he just made.

Rita said it makes her think of “The Masked Dancer,” and he was the host of that and a guest judge on here, so she thinks it’s Craig Robinson. Ken said he’s thinking host and the previous clue of “longest running,” so he thinks it’s Steve Harvey. The scales of justice for “Judge Steve Harvey.” Robin said he heard it in the cadence when just talking, but he thinks it’s comedian Katt Williams. Nick jokes that we’re living in another dimension, as Ken has the best guess tonight on “The Masked Singer” season 14!

Galaxy Girl on ‘The Masked Singer’

For her Colossal Clue, she said she’s boldly gone where no one has gone before. While their guesses have been out of this world, she said there have been some major black holes in Ken’s constellation map. She said she is not Gwen Stefani, but then we see some Las Vegas showgirls.

For her performance, she sings “Lights” by Ellie Goulding. She has a good voice, and this was a fun performance. It just clicked as she was singing for me. This is Ashlee Simpson. She has a residency in Las Vegas. Also, Stingray mentioned before about being tied to one of the other masks. Ashlee happens to be his wife, so there you go!

When explaining her Colossal Clue, she said her husband may love the slot machines, but when she goes to Vegas, she’s there to work.

Panel Feedback

Ken said this was the best performance of the night, and dare he say, she is the frontrunner of the competition. Robin said the showgirls clue didn’t help, but she is an actress and singer. She played the little girl in the Grinch movie, so he thinks it’s Taylor Momsen.

Rita said she is getting an Avril Lavigne vibe, but the Vegas thing is throwing her off. She just knows it’s a rock and roll star under there. Jenny goes with Hilary Duff, to reference the “Dreams” album cover, and she had a song called “What Dreams Are Made Of” and had a concert in Vegas.

It’s time for the panelists and audience members to vote for their favorite performance of the night. Results coming soon!

First Elimination Tonight

The artists are all back on the stage, and it’s time for Nick Cannon to deliver the results from tonight’s votes. The first celebrity unmasking tonight is 14 Karat Carrot. The rest of the singers are safe, for now.

Before getting to the final guesses from the detectives, we get the biggest clue yet for 14 Karat Carrot. The case comes out, and it’s a gavel! He said it’s ironic being on this side of a panel of judges, as he’s normally the one doing the judging.

Here are the final guesses from the judges:

  • Rita guesses Craig Robinson
  • Ken guesses Steve Harvey
  • Jenny guesses Randy Jackson
  • Robin guesses Judge Mathis

The time has come, but the mask is removed, and 14 Karat Carrot is Judge Greg Mathis! Robin comes in with a new name at the end and is correct!

Second Elimination

The other three contestants return to the stage, and the second contestant unmasking tonight is Stingray. That means the semifinalists for “The Masked Singer” season 14 are Cat Witch, Galaxy Girl, Pugcasso, Crane, and Pangolin.

Before getting to the final guesses from the detectives, we get the biggest clue yet for Stingray. The case comes out, and it’s a gavel! He said it’s ironic being on this side of a panel of judges, as he’s normally the one doing the judging. Inside was a permission slip, which said, “I hereby give my child Stingray my endless love. Signed, Mother Supreme.”

After that clue, the panelists are all in agreement. This is Diana Ross’s son, Evan Ross. The mask comes off, and Stingray is definitely Evan Ross!

What do you think of the results tonight?
