Ozzfest Night Begins
The night kicks off with a special performance of “Crazy Train” by Ozzy Osbourne. Hitting the stage were tonight’s performers: Pangolin, Eggplant, High Voltage, and Galaxy Girl. We are going to be rocking it out tonight.
Nick Cannon joins them on stage. For tonight, we are celebrating the legacy of the Godfather of Metal, Ozzy Osbourne. As a special detective tonight, Kelly Osbourne, who was the Ladybug during season 2 of “The Masked Singer,” will be joining the panelists tonight for Ozzfest Night.
High Voltage
For his clues, he said he grew up listening to Ozzy, was a big fan. He got off the subway and had an orange duffel bag he was carrying. He said he and Ozzy both know what it’s like to break out from a group and go solo, as we then see a sign that says Best Voltage, 95 cents. High Voltage had his own band of brothers that went through everything together, as he then pulls out a jar labeled “Jam” from his bag. It looks green. He went out on his own, and it could have been a huge disaster, but he crushed it. High Voltage runs businesses, bands, and podcasts. We see a ticket printing out, which has a cowboy hat on it. He said his life has been a crazy train, but he doesn’t think he’s reached his final destination yet.
For his performance, he sings “Paranoid” by Black Sabbath. He definitely has a strong voice, and it works on a rock song. This was a very solid performance.
For the special clue tonight, it will be delivered by the Crazy Train. High Voltage’s card says “Bandwagon.” He says that because of me and some others, some people jumped on the bandwagon.
Panel Feedback
Ken said his commitment to the bit was amazing. He said it’s Billie Joe Armstrong. The jam was green, the band is Green Day. In 1995, Green Day won a Grammy.
Rita said she’s just going to drop a name, but she thinks vocally, he sounds like John Rzeznik from the Goo Goo Dolls. Kelly said in 1995, “Toy Story” came out. There was a cowboy hat on Woody, so maybe this is Tim Allen.
Galaxy Girl on ‘The Masked Singer’
For her clues, she said it’s an honor to tribute Ozzy tonight, and Ozzfest. Her first concert was Lilith Fair. She said that, as she is playing the piano, she remembers seeing the girls up on that stage and thinking she wanted to be them. We then see a tarantula crawl across the piano. For years, she was lost in the background; she wasn’t the one who sang. She kept that a secret, but when everybody left the house, she would sit at the piano and sing at the top of her lungs. Galaxy Girl is holding an album, whose cover is clouds with Dream written out of them. We see a clock that says 10:10.
For her performance, she sings “Drive” by Incubus. This is definitely a singer, and as she sings, I almost hear a little Miley Cyrus in there. Could it be? Kelly said during the performance that she knows this voice.
For her special clue, the train brings another card, which says “Halo.” She says not everyone earns a halo in their lifetime, but in her lifetime, this girl sure did.
Panel Feedback
Rita said her vocals are so raw, sexy, and fun. That was incredible. Kelly said she thinks she knows this voice. At the very end, she did a little jig that she remembers from a performance that she saw. They knew each other back in the day, but she would go with Ashlee Simpson. Kelly then gets a phone call from her husband-to-be, which she answers!
Jenny said she wrote down a golden alarm clock. She said gold for fool’s gold and for her mom, Goldie Hawn. Jenny thinks it could be Kate Hudson. Ken said this does sound like a familiar voice. He says it’s Gwen Stefani. “Halo” was her debut solo album.
Eggplant
For his clues, he said Ozzy knew how to rock, but so did he. Back in the day, he lived large from billboard to Broadway. He said he even shared the spotlight with Sharon (Osbourne). He said fame did get to his head, and he got a little wild. Eggplant said he started to date a famous rocker’s girlfriend, as he makes a phone call, and we see “Heart” as the contact. Eggplant says big mistake, as the rocker sent his buddies to talk to him, as they are chasing him with a cheese grater. We then see a wagon wheel. He said nowadays he’s mellowed out, and this veggie is off the market, as they zoom in on the pile of wood.
For his performance, he sings “One Step Closer” by Linkin Park. He seems to be talking more than singing tonight. However, he was having fun up there.
For his special clue, the crazy train brought a clue that said “Classic Guitar.” Eggplant said he played plenty of these back in the day, and now he has one named after him.
Panel Feedback
Robin said Eggplant just turned into Robert Plant. That was amazing and electric. He said there were a lot of guitar references. Maybe he is actually the guitar player and not the lead singer. Jenny said from the tone of the voice and that wagon wheel. She thought of REO Speedwagon, and could this be Kevin Cronin?
Ken said it’s Rick Springfield. The heart, stealing a rocker’s girlfriend. You know he had Jesse’s girl. Kelly said she had two guesses. Maybe Ricky Sambora, or maybe Alice Cooper.
Pangolin on ‘The Masked Singer’
For her clues, she said Ozzy was such an inspiration. He stood up for himself, and she had to learn to do that too. We then see a kettlebell on the ground, which has a heart on it. When she was younger, she was living out of her van and about to give up. She said fame then hit, and she felt like she had to be in all the different places. She said sometimes all it takes is a powerful song to pull you out of the darkness. Pangolin said Kelly, I know you’ve lost more than we can imagine. You are not alone as a horse walks by. We see a flag on the horse, which says “1,000,” and she hopes they’ve made Kelly feel at home tonight.
For her performance, she sings “Mama, I’m Coming Home” by Ozzy Osbourne. Yeah, this was definitely a very strong performance. Her voice and vocals were so good with this song choice.
For her special clue, the crazy train delivers a card that reads “Diamond.” She says she has hit plenty of milestones, but this one, it truly shimmered.
Panel Feedback
Kelly said she had the toughest song for her to hear tonight, but she did it so much justice. Jenny said we had Christina Perri perform this season, and she’s got the same kind of amazing chops. We saw the 1,000, and she’s got the song “A Thousand Years,” so she thinks it’s Christina Perri.
Rita said diamond means diamond records. The 1,000 made her think of “A Thousand Miles,” so thinking it’s Vanessa Carlton. Robin said he was thinking the same thing when he saw 1,000. However, he is going to guess Michelle Branch.
The performances are done for tonight, so time for the detectives and audience to vote for their favorite performers.
Results on ‘The Masked Singer’ Season 14
The votes have been tallied, and the two performers who are safe tonight and moving on in the competition are Galaxy Girl and Pangolin. That means Eggplant and High Voltage will battle it out to stay in the competition.
It’s time for the Ozzfest Royale, as Eggplant and High Voltage are entering a duel for the ages. They will both perform a duet to the same song. Their fate will then be in the hands of the detectives. For this performance, they sing “Iron Man” by Black Sabbath. Eggplant definitely seemed to have more fun with this one and was more entertaining than he normally is. However, High Voltage sounded better on this one.
The panelists have voted, and High Voltage has won, which means they remain in the competition, and Eggplant has been eliminated tonight on “The Masked Singer” season 14. The panelists lock in their final guesses:
- Jenny says it’s Kevin Cronin from REO Speedwagon
- Ken says it’s Rick Springfield
- Rita says it’s Nathan Lane
- Robin says it’s Kenny Loggins
- Kelly says it’s Alice Cooper
It’s time to see if any of the panelists are correct. The unmasking takes place, and Eggplant is Hallmark and soap star Jack Wagner. Hallmark fans thought this was the case before, so they were right. However, none of the panelists was correct!
What do you think of the results on tonight’s show?
