Season 28 of “The Voice” premieres on September 22, 2025, just four months after crowning its season 27 champion, singer-songwriter Adam David.
Shocked after his win on coach Michael Bublé’s team in May, David told TV Insider of his plans, “I want to put out some music and go on tour. I want to play. I want to play for audiences and not, you know, empty rooms.” So are his dreams coming true?
Adam David Has Been Playing Gigs & Even Met Teddy Swims
David, who hails from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, beat the odds to win “The Voice,” from getting sober to getting just one chair turn during his Blind Audition performance of “Baby I Love Your Way” — from Bublé, who believed in him from the start.
After David’s win, he told Parade, “I am going to tell you right now, I have nothing to do with it. Zero. We’re friends. I’m not his coach; I’m not his teacher. He’s a killer musician.”
In July, David shared an Instagram video in which he reflected on his win, revealing what a whirlwind it was to be crowned the champion and go right into “10 or 15” media interviews, as he was still processing all that had happened.
“It’s all very overwhelming,” he admitted, and shared that he and his fellow contestants spent the night hanging out with crew members at a local bar, celebrating the season.
David hit the ground running after the show. His first post-win gig, in late May, was with his bandmates, performing in Nashville at the Sober Sessions hosted by Recovery Unplugged, which helped him get sober in 2019.
In August, the singer got to meet megastar Teddy Swims, a full-circle moment given that David performed Swims’ number one hit “Lose Control” to win the Instant Save competition and then cruise to victory. Swims told David backstage “you’re [expletive] phenomenal.”
Adam David Has Not Released New Music Since His Win on ‘The Voice’
Tyler Golden/NBCOn September 20, David played his first show “back home” since winning “The Voice,” he shared on Instagram, calling his return “really exciting.” The concert was held in Pompano Beach.
Fourth place season 27 finalist Lucia Flores Wiseman, cheered him on in the comment section, writing, “I know it’s gonna go CRAZY!! 🙌🔥”
David has not released any new music since his win, but periodically posts videos of himself working on guitar riffs and cover songs. Right before appearing on “The Voice,” he released “Savior,” his first new single in 11 years.
