Ariana Grande stepped out for the first time since announcing plans to take a break from the public eye.
The former “The Voice” coach, 33, was spotted in New York City on Monday, accompanied by her brother Frankie’s husband, Hale Grande.
Photos obtained by the Daily Mail showed Grande wearing a black sweater featuring the title of her latest album, “Petal,” paired with blue jeans and block-heeled ballet pumps. The “Wicked” star also wore a face mask before taking it off at one point.

Grande’s latest sighting comes days after she admitted to being “overwhelmed” as she concluded her North American tour.
The singer took to Instagram and shared photos from her Eternal Sunshine tour, which wrapped up on August 6.
“I love you … i cannot believe that this concludes the north american leg of the eternal sunshine tour,” Grande captioned the post. “I am overwhelmed with love and the deepest gratitude. thank you endlessly for the most special, beautiful, joyful and deeply fulfilling few months …”
She continued, “I will cherish every moment of this time with you all & these memories forever. thank you, chicago … london, i cannot wait to see you soon. i love you all more than ever.”
Ariana Grande Clarifies Decision to Take a Break
Prior to her touching post, Grande announced on stage that she’s taking time off after her tour ends amid “ongoing scrutiny” about her weight.
Grande clarified that her decision to take a break was carefully planned rather than a reaction to negativity.
“Sometimes when a story comes out that’s not directly from me, things can get a little blown out of proportion,” Grande began her speech. “So I just wanted to speak to my fans directly tonight because I love you so much. The announcement that was made yesterday was not a reactive or impulsive thing.”
The singer continued, “It is something that I had decided to plan that I had quietly made a long time ago, and it’s a decision that was made from a thoughtful and empowered place. And I want you to know many things can be true at the same time.”
Grande went on to say, “Multiple things can be true at the same time. Yes, boundaries, they need to be set. Human beings can need a break sometimes. And also, this can be and will continue to be the greatest experience of my professional and creative life.
No matter what noises exist out there, nothing will ever be able to distort my reality or be more real to me or elaborate to me than this love that we share”
Meanwhile, fans quickly showed their support for Grande following the announcement.
