Superstar singer and “The Voice” alum Christina Aguilera turns 45 years old today! To mark the special occasion, we’re taking a glimpse at the star over the past year while also looking back to her start in show business. Spoiler: She was adorable!
First, see the star now:
On April 5 of this year, Aguilera showed up for the 11th Breakthrough Prize Ceremony in Santa Monica, California. She looked stunning in a white ensemble with rosy lips and silver jewelry.

GettyJust days before her birthday, the singer shared black-and-white photos (along with a range of other shots) of herself looking like a classic star.
From the ‘Mickey Mouse Club’ to Pop Music Stardom
Aguilera has been in show business since she was a child. In fact, you may have seen her onscreen when you were young yourself.
During her early days in the industry, Aguilera appeared on Disney’s “The All-New Mickey Mouse Club” from 1993 to 1994. Performing alongside other future celebs like Ryan Gosling, Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake, JC Chasez and Keri Russell, Aguilera seemed like a natural star.
While Aguilera used her singing skills on the “Mickey Mouse Club,” she then launched her music career when she hit the charts at just 16 years old with the song “Reflection,” off the soundtrack for Disney‘s “Mulan.”
By August 1999, Aguilera was celebrating the release of her self-titled debut album.
GettyIn September 1999, Aguilera attended the MTV Video Music Awards in New York City. Wearing a leopard-print outfit with chic black boots, her style was on point for the time.
GettyWhen Aguilera showed up at the American Teacher Awards in Los Angeles on November 14 of that same year, she wore another era-appropriate ensemble.
GettyBy the end of the year, Aguilera could be seen performing on “MTV 2 Large” on New Year’s Eve in MTV’s Times Square studios.
GettyChristina Notes That Aging Is Personal
When it comes to getting older, Aguilera is remaining positive.
“Viewing aging as a negative is a super old-school approach,” Aguilera told People in March 2023. “I’ve seen myself go through different stages of my life and complain about certain things. As I’ve gotten older, I look back, and I’m like, ‘God, every stage is a new era.’ I’m really into feeling more self-assured as you get older. That’s the thing to truly embrace. It’s harmful when [aging] becomes an obsession.”
“I also think that everybody has a different outlook with how they want to age,” she added. “It’s a very personal conversation — what works for some people might not work for others.”
