Meet ‘The Voice’ Champion Alexia Jayy’s Boyfriend & Beautiful Blended Family

Fresh off her win on “The Voice,” Alexia Jayy is opening up about the people behind her success.

The 31-year-old singer from Mobile, Alabama, made history as the first Black woman to win the show in 15 years. While her voice captivated audiences, she says her family kept her grounded.

“My family is super supportive,” Jayy shared. “Whatever I have to do, they’re willing to help.”

The Love Story That Built a Family

Jayy’s journey hasn’t been one she’s taken alone. Early on the show she revealed she spent some time as a single mother before meeting her boyfriend, David Rembert.

“I was a single mother for a good amount of my mom years and then David came along… we blended our families.”

Jayy brought her son Matthew, while David brought his son Corey. They later welcomed a daughter together.

Who is Alexia Jayy’s Number One Supporter

For Jayy, one of the most meaningful parts of her journey has been her son watching it unfold. Matthew, 9, was by her side during her Blind Audition, which earned her the first “Triple Chair Turn” of the season.

During that moment, coach John Legend asked him about his favorite artist. His answer: Maroon 5, which may have led Alexia Jayy to Team Adam and a historical win.

“For my son to be able to watch me, that means a lot because we went through so much together.”

Jayy said her son has witnessed both her struggles and perseverance. “He’s seen me stop and start, but he’s never seen me give up,” she explained.

Now, she says he proudly shares her success with his teachers and friends. “He’s so proud of me,” she added.

Jayy also credits her boyfriend, David for being a constant source of support. She said he stepped in to help with their children while she traveled for the show.

In an interview with Swoon she said, “He has supported me through this whole thing.” She added, “You don’t always find that in a partner.”

Balancing music and family life came with challenges. There were long periods apart and limited communication.

Still, Jayy said his encouragement never wavered. Ahead of the finale, David publicly expressed how proud he was of her journey.

On Instagram he shared,

“Just wanna say Win or Lose bae I’m so proud of you… you passion for this and loyalty has brought you to this point and not just to this point you going farther than this…I love you bae and the whole city behind you.”

Sharing Her Historical ‘The Voice’ Win With Those Who Stood With Her

Jayy’s win marks a major milestone in her career. However, she makes it clear the moment belongs to more than just her.

“My kids love music just as much as I do,” she said.

As she takes the next steps in her life and career, Jayy remains focused on her music. With her family behind her, she’s ready for what comes next.
