When Travis Kelce proposed to Taylor Swift, he didn’t just pick out a ring—he helped design the one she would love most.
During a recent Friday, October 3, appearance on the “Heart Breakfast” radio show, Swift — pop star extraordinaire and former advisor on “The Voice” — shared how she had shown Kelce a video of jewelry by Kindred Lubeck more than a year before, and he actually remembered it when selecting her engagement ring.
“I had shown him a video, I just thought her stuff was so cool, I had shown him a video like a year and a half ago and he was just paying attention to everything it turns out,” she began. “Because when I saw the ring I…I was like, ‘I know who made this, I know who made this,’ and also, you listen to me!”
The Ring
The ring is breathtaking! It appears to be an 8- to 10-carat old mine brilliant cut diamond set in a bezel setting on a yellow gold band, according to In Style.
It’s an elegant, vintage-inspired piece that combines structure with romantic flair.
The “Shake It Off” singer also revealed that Kelce designed the ring as well.
Swift said when she first saw the ring, she gasped, recognizing the designer and feeling seen: “I didn’t know what I would want, but he did somehow, and that’s kind of a flex.”
The two announced their engagement via social media with a carousel of images on August 26.
They captioned the sweet moment, “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married.”
Swift Reveals Her Upcoming Bachelorette Plans
Swift’s excitement also bubbles over into her new album, “The Life of a Showgirl,” where she weaves in lyrical nods to her engagement and dreams for her future life with Kelce.
As she promotes her new album, she was asked what she will do regarding a bachlorette party.
“Everyone is scattered across the world is the thing,” she began.
The 35-year-old made the surprise revelation that she actually has no idea what she will do.
“You would think that I had been the type of person who would have obsessed over the idea of a wedding my whole life, but I actually never thought about what I would ever do or what I would want until I met the person, so I haven’t even thought about that, doing a hen do or whatever,” she continued. “This is the first time I have thought about it. [My friends], they’re so fun, but so busy.”
