‘The Voice’ Season 29 Coaches Ranked by Wins Ahead of ‘Battle of Champions’

“The Voice” season 29 is approaching, and NBC is putting a competitive twist on the long-running singing competition. Officially titled “The Voice: Battle of Champions,” the upcoming season features a first-of-its-kind three-Coach lineup made up entirely of veterans: Kelly Clarkson, Adam Levine, and John Legend. As the series prepares to premiere in February, fans are revisiting each Coach’s track record to see who enters the season with the most wins.

The premiere also arrives alongside major format changes designed to raise the stakes for Artists and Coaches alike.

Which Season 29 Coach Has Won the Most on ‘The Voice’

Among the three Coaches, Clarkson leads the pack with the most victories. Clarkson has won “The Voice” four times. Her winning Artists include Brynn Cartelli in season 14, Chevel Shepherd in season 15, Jake Hoot in season 17, and Girl Named Tom in season 21. Clarkson served as a Coach from seasons 14 through 21 and returned again for season 23. Prior to joining the panel full time, she appeared as a Battle Advisor for Team Blake Shelton in season 2 and as a Key Advisor in season 13.

Levine follows closely behind with three wins. One of the original Coaches, Levine won season 1 with Javier Colon, season 5 with Tessanne Chin, and season 9 with Jordan Smith. Levine remained on the show for 16 seasons before departing, making him the second-longest-serving Coach in the series’ history behind Blake Shelton.

Legend has secured one win so far. He won season 16 with Maelyn Jarmon. Legend served as a Coach from seasons 16 through 22 and returned again for seasons 24 and 25. He also appeared earlier in the franchise as a Battle Advisor for Team Adam Levine during season 10.

Season 29 Format Changes Shake Up the Competition

Season 29 introduces several new rules aimed at intensifying competition among the Coaches. According to NBC, during the Blind Auditions, Clarkson, Levine, and Legend will compete to earn the most three-chair turns. The Coach who wins this phase will receive a strategic advantage heading into the Battles.

That advantage includes a new Super Steal rule. The Coach with the most three-chair turns after the Blinds automatically earns a Super Steal, allowing them to override another Coach’s steal attempt during the Battles and secure the Artist for their own team.

The season also debuts an In-Season All-Star Competition during the Knockouts. Each Coach will bring back two Artists from previous seasons to compete in head-to-head sing-offs. The Coach whose returning Artists win the most matchups will be guaranteed two season 29 Artists in the Finale.

Veteran Coach CeeLo Green returns during the Knockouts to judge the All-Star Competition. His decisions determine which Coach earns the extra Finale spot.
