As the Knockouts continue on season 28 of “The Voice,” NBC is already gearing up for season 29. On November 12, 2025, the network announced that an “all-new format” of the popular singing competition show will kick off on February 23, 2026.
As previously announced, season 29 will be a “Battle of Champions” featuring returning superstar coaches Kelly Clarkson, Adam Levine, and John Legend (yes, three coaches instead of four!). Here’s what else to expect next season — and the rest of the current season.
Season 29 of ‘The Voice’ Will Kick Off With 3 Shows in Single Week
GettyAccording to press materials from NBC, “The Voice” season 29 will premiere on February 23 at 9 p.m. Eastern time after the premiere of a new comedy, “The Fall and Rise of Reggie Dinkins,” starring “SNL” alum Tracy Morgan and produced by Tina Fey.
The one-hour premiere of “The Voice: Battle of Champions” will showcase a “major revamp to the longstanding format,” NBC said, with “powerhouse coaches who form the only panel in the show’s history comprised entirely of ‘Voice’ winners.”
Another big change is that NBC will air the first three nights of the Blind Auditions in one week — on February 23 at 9 p.m., February 25 at 8 p.m., and March 2 at 8 p.m., all Eastern time. The auditions were filmed in July, so the featured artists will have waited over seven months for their performances to air.
NBC promised the new season will be “infused with fast-paced, competitive elements, delivering a fresh twist on the format that raises the stakes for coaches and artists alike.”
Snoop Dogg is Hoping For His 1st Win on ‘The Voice’
NBCBefore season 29 takes off, season 28 needs to find its winner! Coaches Michael Bublé, Reba McEntire, Snoop Dogg, and Niall Horan have several Knockout rounds left to get through in November before the Playoffs can begin.
The season 28 Playoffs will air on December 1 and December 8 at 9 p.m. Eastern time, per NBC. Then, the two-night live finale will air on December 15 and 16, with viewers’ votes deciding who will be crowned the next winner of “The Voice.”
Snoop is vying for his first-ever win, McEntire’s hoping for her second, and Bublé and Horan each won their first two seasons coaching the show. If Bublé wins, he’d pull off a hat trick, winning three seasons in a row.
According to NBC, 27 million people have tuned in to watch “The Voice” so far this season, across all platforms.

No matter what coach wins from their chosen singer, I truly hope in the future that all (4) coaches come back to the Voice in the future, it was a joy watching you all. Reba, Snoop Dogg, Buble, Niall
I 100% agree. I have loved every minute of this season
I really like all the coaches this year. I hate that show time has been cut. Hope next season won’t lose alot of the fans.
I will not watch this season with these new judges. I hated to watch any show they were on before. This year was so much fun loved these judges why ruin it with these three?
Probably won’t watch it next season. Only judge I like is John. Too bad for the change. I think this will be the last season for it.
Season 29 no one going to watch. Ratings are going to PLUMMET. This season 28 has been the BEST so far. ♥️ the judges REBA, SNOOP, MICHAEL, and NIIAL! The next season 29 is gonna SUCK!
