Lark Voorhies Tearfully Remembers ‘Saved By The Bell’ Cast Member: ‘I Miss Him’

A documentary delving into the controversies of sitcom “Saved By The Bell” has one cast member tearfully reminiscing.

In the trailer for the documentary, an episode of the second season of “Hollywood Demons,” Lark Voorhies is visibly emotional as she remembers former co-star Dustin Diamond.

The episode, titled “Scarred By The Bell,” will explore the controversies behind the scenes of the show, reported People.

A description for the episode reads, “A beloved 90’s high school sitcom, ‘Saved by the Bell’ captured the heart of a generation. However, in the years since its premiere, stalking, lies, sex tapes, and other controversies have tarnished the sitcom’s reputation.”

In the trailer, Voorhies appears visibly upset while discussing her former co-star Dustin Diamond. She tears up as she reveals, “I miss him.”

The episode will also feature interviews with Ed Alonzo (Max) and Max Battimo (Mikey Gonzalez), as well as crew members and family, who will “pull back the curtain on the harsh realities that some cast members faced when the cameras stopped rolling.”

Diamond was famous for playing Samuel “Screech” Powers on the show, while Voorhies portrayed Lisa Turtle. Both were considered core cast members, along with Mark-Paul Gosselaar (Zac Morris), Mario Lopez (A.C. Slater), Elizabeth Berkley (Jessie Spano), and Tiffani Thiessen (Kelly Kapowski).

After his success on “Saved By The Bell,” Diamond experienced numerous run-ins with the law, including serving time in jail. In 2009, he also released a tell-all book about his experience on the sitcom, alleging the cast partook in drugs and engaged in sexual relationships.

He later expressed regret about the claims made in “Behind The Bell,” on the “Oprah: Where Are They Now?” series. Diamond told host Oprah Winfrey he had used a ghostwriter. “A lot of the stories were just kind of throwaways,” he said, per his obituary in The New York Times. He later said he would “ask for forgiveness for any kind of misunderstandings that may have come about by the book.”

Diamond passed away in 2021 after a battle with lung cancer. He “did not suffer,” his longtime manager told People.

“Dustin Diamond was a character in and of himself: an unpredictable spitfire who always left us shocked, but never left us bored,” Roger Paul said in a statement. “We are thankful he trusted us enough to share his genuine, authentic self with our team. We wish you knew him in the way that we did.”

The episode will air on May 4, 2026 on Investigation Discovery and will be available to stream on HBO Max.
