Week 2 of Auditions
We are kicking off Week 2 of the Blind Auditions on “The Voice” season 29 tonight on NBC.
We have even more singers for these “The Voice” coaches to fight over. All of the artists are trying to get a spot on one of the coaches’ teams and remain in this competition.
Last week, we saw the premiere of season 29 with the return of Kelly, Adam, and John as coaches. The banter was amazing between these coaches, as they were fighting hard. In the end, Kelly was winning most of those battles, as we saw 10 artists move on to the next round and join one of the coaches’ teams. Who makes it through tonight? Week 2 Begins
It’s another week. The coaches are talking about the Triple Turns. John Legend hasn’t won any, so he is hoping to soon.
The Bread Man
JW Griffin delivers bread for his job. Lots of bread puns. His passion isn’t delivering bread, but it’s delivering music. For his audition, he sings “Long Haired Country Boy” by Charlie Daniels. And yes, this is a country boy. He has such a solid voice and sounds good on this one. He gets a Triple Turn, so that battle is on.
Coaches’ Feedback: Adam said this is going to be so heartbreaking when he doesn’t win. He has one of his favorite voices that he has heard on this show. Kelly said she is so excited that she turned first. He was such a great storyteller in the first few moments of the song. John said his tone sounded so comfortable and easy. It felt like he was having a conversation with us.
Final Decision: They all fought for him, but JW chose to join Team Kelly, so she gets her second Triple Turn win.
Nicolette Capua
She is from Staten Island, New York, and that accent is strong. She said their family parties are wild, as everyone is talking. Nicolette is high-energy and loves pop. For her audition, she sings “you broke me first” by Tate McRae. She does have a good voice. She hits some good notes along the way, but nothing about it stands out. No coaches turn for her.
Coaches’ Feedback: Kelly said her voice is very powerful and cool tones, but it got away from her at the end. Adam said that it is a really tough vocal, but keep at it.
Tia Durant on ‘The Voice’
She is having some trouble shooting her pre-video. Tia is a small-town girl with big-town dreams. Out of high school, she got a banking job. She wanted to help people in other ways, so she quit and pursued her dreams of singing.
For her audition, she sings “Midnight Train to Georgia” by Gladys Knight & The Pips. I mean, I fell in love with her first note. She has such a soulful voice, and it’s so entertaining. However, the coaches took a little longer. Kelly and Adam hit later for her.
Coaches’ Feedback: John said he was concerned about the beginning, but she started belting it was magical. Adam said the whole point of the show is appreciating amazing voices, and that’s what he was listening to. Kelly said she would love her on her team, and no one sounds like her on her team, and she likes the variety. Adam said he would love to work with her, and the purity of it all.
Final Decision: Tia picks to join Team Kelly, so she is killing it this season on “The Voice” 2026.
Kendra Remedios
Kendra is a dental hygienist by day and a country singer/songwriter by night. She said she has cleaned some amazing people’s teeth. She was a big daddy’s girl, but he had a brain aneurysum and she took care of him. Now she feels he’s the fourth coach for her this season, always watching over her.
For her audition, she sings “Girl Crush” by Little Big Town. She has a very solid voice. A good rasp to it, and she hits some big notes along the way. Maybe trying a little too much? I’m not sure, but I like the tone of it. She got John to hit his button for her.
Coaches’ Feedback: Adam said a great song and a great vocal, but there was some stuff that was holding him back. Kelly said she is so bummed, and loved her tone, but her team is filling up, and she has country artists on her team. John said he couldn’t resist, and he loved the crackle in her voice. She joins Team Legend.
Mike Steele
He has always wanted to be a singer, but knew he needed a backup plan. That is why he went to school, and he is now in his senior year and ready to graduate. He did it for his family and wants to make them proud. His daughter says to pick Team Kelly.
For his audition, he sings “For Tonight” by Giveon. It starts a little rough for me, but he worked that out. His voice is very good, and he has that R&B vibe about him. He gets all three coaches to turn for him, so another Triple Turn!
Coaches’ Feedback: John said he felt like he made so many interesting choices. We turned for you because we loved your voice and would love to have you on Team Legend. Adam said that, as strong and robust as his voice is, he has a good range and room to grow up top. Kelly suggests doing other covers, but John said this is the time for him to establish who he is.
Final Decision: After an intense battle between John and Kelly, Mike decides to join Team Legend, so John gets his first Triple Turn win. It’s now 2-2-1 for the coaches.
Bijou Belle
She grew up watching “The Voice” with her family. She performs in a band with her siblings, but is going out on her own tonight. For her audition, she sings “Wildflower” by Billie Eilish. She gets Adam to hit his button pretty quickly.
Coaches’ Feedback: Kelly said she is so young. She liked that she had more power to it, but it did have some pitchy parts. Adam said it started so strong, but it lost its course with pitch. She is young, and that’s all natural. She has to have room to grow. She will be joining Team Adam.
Jaali Boyd on ‘The Voice’ Season 29
She is a singing cleaner, as she cleans houses for a living. For her audition, she sings “No Air” by Jordin Sparks. She starts strong, but like Bijou, she loses it somewhat as the song goes on. She got Adam and Kelly to turn around for her pretty quickly, though.
Coaches’ Feedback: John said she is a special singer and he’s glad she’s here. Adam said it’s amazing what she can do. As amazing as it was, I still felt there could be more. That makes her one of the most exciting people they’ve heard. Kelly said when she turned around, she loved seeing her just up there performing.
Final Decision: Jaali picks to join Team Adam!
Blaire Elbert
She has been singing since she was 5 years old. She was part of a girl group called Cactus Girls. However, they parted ways, and she’s been pursuing her solo music career. For her audition, she sings “Wide Rollin’ Plains.” She doesn’t get much action, but then she starts yodeling and gets Kelly to turn for her. No one else turns for her.
Coaches’ Feedback: John said a lot was happening, and it was hard for him to keep up. Adam said when she started yodeling, he thought there’s no way she isn’t Team Kelly. Kelly said that is a big song, so she is excited to work with her and slow her down, as Blaire joins Team Kelly.
Adi Arora
We start with a blind audition, as we get no backstory. He has that high-pitched voice as he sings “It Will Rain” by Bruno Mars. He actually has a very similar sound to Bruno. I think he has a good range and a good sound to his voice. I think he needs to let loose more and will do better with a coach. He gets John and Kelly to hit their button for him.
Coaches’ Feedback: Kelly said he can sing some Bruno Mars, and that’s a tall order. Adam said they are both high-voice guys. John said it seemed like Kelly was a little bit unsure about him, but he was not. He loved his tone.
Final Decision: Adi picks to join Team Legend.
Moses G.
He said to be part of season 29 of “The Voice” is bananas. He grew up in the hood of Harlem. Moses said music saved the day, and that’s all he knew to do. We have a very touching moment with his mom, who he said is his queen and the reason why he sings.
For his audition, he sings “Forever Young” by Rod Stewart. He has a very strong voice. I am wondering if he has anything to make him a standout. He hits some runs at the end and gets Adam to turn for him!
Coaches’ Feedback: Kelly said great song selection, but a little too much vibrato in parts, which was holding her back. John said he has a wonderful coach in Adam Levine. Adam said he is his guy. His voice is cool because he heard some grit and rasp, and is excited to get going, as Moses is joining Team Adam.
Chezzarai
She has been performing for seven years. She put herself on “The Voice” on her vision board. Chezzarai has a residency in Las Vegas singing with the group “Diamonds.” She talks about her vision board a little too much for me.
For her audition, she sings “I’m Every Woman” by Chaka Khan. She comes out, and her voice is so powerful. It is big and strong. Shockingly, no coaches hit their button for her!
Coaches’ feedback: Adam said something is holding him back. Kelly said this is a wild song. It was so pure, and she has a beautiful, strong voice. John said she should come back and audition, but sing a song that allows her to breathe.
Hunter Jordan
He said Kelly has always been his favorite. He is country, and would love to work with her. Hunter grew up in a small town in Kentucky. He got a job after graduating, but singing has always been something he has wanted.
For his audition, he sings “Let Me Down Easy” by Billy Currington. He is a good-looking fella with a very good country voice. He has a strong stage presence. Adam and John turn quickly for him, as Kelly joins shortly afterwards. So, another Triple Turn tonight.
Coaches’ Feedback: Adam said today is the day that he is going to make a country person break the mold. He is going to resist the mold and not pick the status quo, and today is the day he will get a country singer on his team. Kelly said we all love music and don’t close ourselves off to one thing. John said we can learn from each other, and coach each other.
Final Decision: Today is the day, as Jordan said he is going to blaze a path and pick to join Team Adam! That’s another Triple Turn win for Adam.
The Blind Auditions are done for tonight. What did you think of tonight’s artists?
