Ben Affleck’s Son Steps Up for Jennifer Lopez’s Child in Sweet Graduation Reunion

Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner’s son, Samuel Affleck, stepped up for Jennifer Lopez’s child, Emme, who now goes by the name Oskar Muรฑiz, at his graduation on Thursday.

Samuel, 14, was there to support his former stepsibling on their special day, while singer Marc Anthony appeared to be absent from the event.

In photos shared by TMZ, Affleck and Garner’s son appeared to have a blast as he chatted with Lopez’s child. At one point, the duo was pictured huddled together, seemingly checking something out on a phone.

For the event, Samuel donned a blue long-sleeve button-down dress shirt matched with tan pants. Oskar, on the other hand, wore a tan suit.

Oskar’s twin, Max, was also present at the event, rocking an all-black ensemble.

Ben Affleck & Jennifer Lopez’s Children Maintain a Close Bond

Lopez shares twins Oskar and Max with Anthony. Meanwhile, Affleck has three kids with Garner: Violet, Fin, and Samuel.

Lopez and Affleck tied the knot in 2022 before ultimately ending their marriage in 2024. Despite their split, the former couple has remained close to each other’s children.

“Things between Ben and Jennifer are good,” a source told PEOPLE in September 2025. “Even though theyโ€™re not together anymore, theyโ€™ve stayed on friendly terms.”

The insider added, “The kids are still really close. They have the same groups of friends, they see each other, and they talk all the time. They make sure the kids know they get along. The most important thing to both of them is raising their kids in a supportive environment, so they plan to stay in each otherโ€™s lives.”

Jennifer Lopez Prepares for Life as an Empty-Nester

Meanwhile, Lopez can’t help but get emotional as her 18-year-old twins prepare to go to college.

In the latest episode of โ€œJimmy Kimmel Live,โ€ the former โ€œAmerican Idolโ€ talked about her kids graduating from high school and preparing to move out of her multimillion-dollar mansion.

โ€œDonโ€™t talk about it, Iโ€™ll start crying,โ€ Lopez told Kimmel, seemingly choking back tears. “I think all the parents are going to be crying at some point. I hope so.”

Lopez also revealed that Max and Oskar are going to different colleges, and she’s completely supportive of it.

โ€œI mean, itโ€™s fine,โ€ Lopez added. โ€œI want them to be happy. Go where they want to go, do what they want to do.โ€

Lopez made it clear that she plans to be hands-on when it comes to helping the twins move into their dorms. Still, part of her hopes they’d change their minds and decide to stay home instead.

โ€œWeโ€™re going to pack up their rooms here and theyโ€™re going to take all the things that they want to take to their dorm,โ€ Lopez continued. โ€œThen theyโ€™re going to realize that their dorms are too small and that theyโ€™re going to miss home, I hope, and want to come back real soon. Thatโ€™s my point.โ€

Oskar is reportedly set to attend Sarah Lawrence College, where he plans to study theater and studio arts.
