Jack Blocker Has Concert Dates & an Album Release Days After Daughter’s Birth
Originally from Dallas, Blocker made it to the Top 3 in May 2024 after barely making it onto the show at all. During his audition, the singer-songwriter was turned away by judges Lionel Richie and Katy Perry, who were concerned about Blocker’s unique facial expressions as he sang.
But for the first time in the show’s history, the crew stepped in and told the judges they were making a mistake, eventually convincing them to send Blocker through to Hollywood.
Blocker’s authenticity, passion, and talent were endearing to fans and won over the judges with every week. He even sang a duet with Perry on the finale, her last show as a judge after leaving to launch her world tour.
The Blockers moved to Nashville after “Idol,” according to Creative Loafing, to focus on his career as a singer-songwriter. On September 12, Blocker is scheduled to release his first album, “The Land On Most High,” with tour dates as soon as September 6 in West Virginia, and an album release party in Nashville on September 11.
