Bravo’s Biggest Stars Dish Behind-the-Scenes Secrets on How They Prep for Reunions

If you think the season finale of a Bravo series is the final word, think again. The reunion is where the stakes rise, the emotional resets happen, and the biggest questions finally get answered. While fans see the drama play out on stage over multiple episodes, the work that goes into preparing for a reunion is far more intense than most viewers realize. From wardrobe and glam to emotional prep and cast seating charts, Bravo stars are sharing what really goes on before the cameras roll.

In a new interview with Bravo Insider, cast members from “Vanderpump Rules,” “The Real Housewives of Atlanta,” “The Real Housewives of Miami,” “The Valley,” “The Real Housewives of Orange County,” and “The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City” revealed exactly what it takes to make it through reunion day.

As Tom Schwartz put it, “If you’re reading this and you’re gonna be on a show and you’re gonna do a reunion, know that they’re long days. And you’re talking about very high-stakes moments, and you’re really getting in there and dissecting some very intimate moments in your life. It’s a marathon, not a sprint.”

How Bravolebrities Prep for Reunion Day Behind the Scenes

Finding a reunion outfit isn’t just about personal style. It’s a process that often comes with a theme and a very specific aesthetic. Longtime Housewife Shannon Storms Beador said the pressure is real.

“As far as the fashion goes, I am the one that’s mic-ed up and screaming in my closet to try and figure out what I’m gonna wear,” Shannon told Bravo Insider. “I’m just not good at planning ahead very well.”

Newcomer Michelle Saniei had the same experience during her first reunion for “The Valley.”

“The outfit actually was really hard for me,” Saniei said. “Everything I was submitting, they’re like, ‘No, it’s a little too fancy,’ or ‘not fancy enough.’ But finally at the end, we got the dress that I wanted, so I was pretty happy about that.”

Larsa Pippen takes the opposite approach. The RHOM star said she embraces the theme.

“I kinda just like to commit to whatever the theme is. I like to overdo it a little bit ‘cause I feel like it’s the reunion, go all in or go home,” Larsa explained. “We always dress up and we always are intact with the theme.”

Phaedra Parks shared that it wasn’t always this way. “When I first started Housewives, designers would almost handpick one of the ladies and send racks of clothes they wanted you to wear,” she said. “All you had to do was come naked and be ready to get dressed.”

Bravo Reunions Take Strategy, Mental Prep & Research

Reunion day isn’t just a glam marathon. It’s emotional work. Drew Sidora said cast members watch every episode to prepare.

“You’ve got to make sure you know what people said so you can hold them accountable at the reunion,” Drew said. “The reunion is like the Super Bowl for Housewives. It’s go time.”

Lisa Hochstein takes notes throughout the season. “I don’t wanna forget anything,” she explained. “That’s why we have the notes.”

Some Bravolebs rely on seasoned advice, like Michelle Saniei, who consulted Scheana Shay.

“She just said, ‘Be honest, be open, be you, and don’t hold back,’” Saniei shared.

Others have their own unusual rituals. Tom Schwartz even schedules his viewing time around workouts and takeout. “I would do half on the treadmill, and for the second half, I’d get Chinese takeout and a cold beer,” he said.

Backstage: Dressing Rooms, Pairings & Seating Charts

Reunions come with rules—even backstage. Depending on the studio, cast members may be grouped together or separated. Emily Simpson shared that LA reunions typically provide private trailers, saying, “We each have our own. That’s been nice.”

Seating charts also have a reputation, but Andy Cohen insists fans shouldn’t read too much into it. When asked about “The Valley” seating, Andy said: “Nothing — just means she was in the last chair.”

Parks agreed that placement doesn’t dictate importance. “I don’t care where I sit,” she said. “Honey, I can shine anywhere.”
